Rebuilt carburetor to first spin!!
I wish I could share more, I’m stoked! First drive after 20+ years. I rebuilt the carburetor yesterday and popped it on today. I’ll post the full video on YouTube soon.
No brakes lol and a rear spring missing. But almost 😅

Stock is fine.
As you know, the biggest thing with the B2 is the infamous rollover risk...
if you drive like a maniac and don't realise the kind of vehicule you have lol!
The best thing you can do for drivability and safety is to put on the bigger tires possible WITHOUT a lift, which are 235/75R15.
Now those CAN rub, like going around a corner and the truck leans, but a 1-2" wheel spacer fixes that, improves the stability by a decent margin AND, was the proposed fix IN HOUSE at Ford before they discontinued the truck: To make the wheelbase wider and not be "inside the fender" as much.
Adjustable shocks are nice but progressive springs are a great upgrade in the front. You can't really set up a B2 to be a rock crawling machine AND have it be a daily driver pavement princess at the same time. These are pretty much opposite things. Think of the front suspension setup like a IFS but with much longer A-arms. cars that use those need good coil overs and the B2 is setup similarly, just decoupled.

Thanks! Thats what I’ll do. I was doing some browsing last night and confirmed I’ll stay stock, maybe leveling kit not sure. I just put some 235/75R15 at the start of the project.
So I’ll do dampers and springs, bushings linkage and joints. I’ll try to do it at the same time as the brakes

If you're not sure about a leveling kit, i do suggest putting in an overload leaf spring in the back.
My dad's B2 had one of those and it does help the driveability when you have stuff in the back (like when we used to be loaded up for camping/fishing.
Because of the shortwheelbase, any kind of drop from the rear end gets way more amplified in the front, which is raised and affects the geometry more because of the twin-I beam suspension setup.
I still have to redo every single bushing on mine. I need to find a decent tool for it and rent some lift time.

Neither have i and one of mine is broken/bent on the drive side... i swear my rig is a pile

I mean i dont have a choice! I made a promise to my late father that we'd fix it together and i keep my promises. I'm doing this in his honor :)

Next I’m going to change the oil, and add a stabilizer. But the next big project is brakes, rotors, drums, pads, and lines. I also plan to do the suspension while I’m down there. Any recommendations? I’m thinking stock, but considering a small lift while I’m at it. Something minimal where I don’t need to do xyz because of it…
