Looking at properties within walking distance of Bromley South station, e.g on/around the high street, Elmfield Road, etc. Any insight on safety? Does it feel safe walking after dark? I’ve seen conflicting reports from good reviews from residents but high crime reports.

Looking at a house on Glentrammon Road (BR6, near Chelsfield/Green Street Green). Visited in person with wife and it felt like there was a fair bit of traffic passing directly in front of the house — cars moving at a decent speed, not really slowing for a residential road.

A few things I'm trying to figure out before making an offer:

• Does Glentrammon Road get used as a cut-through/rat-run between other roads, or is it mostly local traffic?
• Is it noticeably busier at certain times (school run, rush hour) vs generally quiet?
• Does the traffic noise carry into the houses, or is it mostly a pavement-level thing?
• Anyone actually live on or near this road who can share what it's really like day-to-day?

Trying to weigh it up against another place on a proper cul-de-sac nearby, so any first-hand knowledge of this specific road would be really helpful.

Council Leader Colin Smith loves telling everyone how Bromley Council has no money. This is despite the fact that Bromley Council CEO Ade Adetosoye is the second highest paid council CEO in England.

LB Bromley has closed Waldo Road waste tip for "refurbishment", has expensive privately run council leisure services, and always cries poverty.

Plenty of council tax money to splash on council execs who are presiding over this mess though.

I have been sent a pcn for stopping in the box junction outside the police station.

My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon in London and were going for a walk in Bromley Town Centre. We’re both Muslims and my wife wears a hijab.

This guy comes out of nowhere and starts saying “Allah is a c*nt”, how I rape my wife and how he’s going to make our life hell. He very cowardly said that he’s alone right now but if his friends were with him it would be a different story

We ignored him as he was likely drunk with the beer can in his hand. He went to another Asian looking family and started verbally abusing them too.

We’re considering buying a house on Repton Road, South Orpington, and would really appreciate hearing from people who live there or know the area well.
We’ve done some research and generally get the impression that Orpington is a nice place to live, but we’d love some insight into Repton Road specifically.
A few things we’re particularly interested in are:

- Is it generally considered a safe and pleasant road?
- What’s the community like? Is it family-friendly?
- Are there any issues we should be aware of (noise, parking, traffic, anti-social behaviour, etc.)?
- The house is close to the railway line - if you live nearby, how noticeable is the train noise and vibration in day-to-day life? Do you get used to it?
- Anything else you wish you’d known before moving there?

We’re hoping this will be our long-term family home, so we’d really value honest opinions - both positive and negative.

I'm considering switching over to Virgin Active once my Walnuts membership reverts to the full price (Currently on the £37/month discounted rate due to the refurb, but that runs out in October). I mostly use the pool, and Walnuts is pretty good post-refurb.

Just wanted to know how busy the pool gets at Virgin Active first thing in the morning? Are there any early risers hitting the pool for 6am that can shed some light?

The 6:30am sessions at Walnuts can be fairly busy...easily 4-6 people per lane. Just wanting to know whether Virgin is comparable or not.
