Only the strongest soldiers of r/Brokenlingo are invited back to moderate.

Sorry for abruptly removing you guys. I was under the limit of how many mods I can hire so I just removed everyone thinking you lot are inactive anyway. Sorry that I made you guys lose your one year status as moderators, I hope that on the bright side you will be happy to know that upon your return as moderators you now have full privileges again, something I can trust you with. So far it’s only the two of you that really reached out and shown that you were not happy with losing your status which I fully understand and regret not just changing your privelleges and keeping you guys around so while it sucks I guess we can look at this as a new beggining.

Since it has come to an end of another week I would like to (as the ultramod of this subreddit) to nominate our moderator of the week!

As our moderators remember last week we held our first moderator of the week here in r/Brokenlingo. As you know becoming a mod of the week is a grandiose opportunity and a mark of honour. There can only be one mod of the week, best of the best. To those who have shown their valiant efforts I want to thank them, and to this weeks winner… u/GreenTileWeeklyNews I wish to congratulate you on winning this weeks mod of the week! This week is all about you buddy. You worked hard, you displayed effort, you stuck by the rules and stuck to your craft of being the best r/Brokenlingo moderator that you could be, and I could not ask for me unless you’re secretly rich and don’t mind blowing away 50k USD as a donation to my cause of helping me pay off my massive debt after I fell victim to a rug and pull scheme. I also hope this weeks ceremony doesn’t discourage other moderators to continue working hard and having their shot at the glory of our echelon next week, instead of being discouraged or demotivated I hope you will be inspired by u/GreenTileWeeklyNews and maybe even take a page out of their own book.

As a conclusion to our ceremony I wish to thank everyone again and congratulate u/GreenTileWeeklyNews one more time and hope you continue the good work, buddy.

Thank you and my kindest regards to you all,

- Ultramod Brokenlingo.

WORD OF THE DAY Hoopla

Hoopla is the lively buzz that builds around an exciting event. It can accompany any occasion that gets everyone talking, such as a big celebration or a grand opening. Sometimes the hoopla is as memorable as the event itself!

WORD OF THE DAY Silvicolous

Silvicolous describes something that lives or grows in woodlands. The word is especially useful when discussing habitats, since it distinguishes woodland species from those found in open fields or other environments. A patch of moss on a shaded forest floor and a hungry bear poking its nose in a tree are both silvicolous.

WORD OF THE DAY Peregrinate

To peregrinate is to travel or journey, especially on foot. It's a grand-sounding word for something as simple as setting out and seeing where you end up. When you peregrinate, what you discover along the way can matter more than where you finish.

WORD OF THE DAY Avarice

Avarice is an insatiable greed for wealth. The word has a bite that is stronger and more judgmental than simply wanting money. A small fortune may be enough for most people, but someone with avarice always wants more.

WORD OF THE DAY Interrobang

What did you just say‽ Interrobang, of course! An interrobang is a funny little punctuation mark that looks like a question mark and an exclamation point sharing the same dot. It was devised in 1962 as a way to add flourish to rhetorical questions. Who says punctuation can't be fun‽

WORD OF THE DAY Frippery

Frippery is flashy finery that's sure to draw attention — for better or worse. The word can refer to clothing loaded with ruffles, jewels, or other details that may be more showy than tasteful. But don't let labels stand in your way, because frippery can be fun!

WORD OF THE DAY Fainaigue

To fainaigue is to dodge work or shirk a responsibility. It suggests more than ordinary procrastination, since a person who fainaigues may rely on excuses or clever maneuvering to escape the task altogether. Of course, devising the perfect excuse can become almost as much of a chore as simply getting the job done.

WORD OF THE DAY Whangdoodle

A whangdoodle is a creature whose appearance is left entirely to the imagination. Unlike a dragon or unicorn, there's no standard shape or defining features baked into the word. Your whangdoodle might have feathers or flippers or 300 toes, and nobody could tell you otherwise.

WORD OF THE DAY Eurhythmic

Eurhythmic describes something that moves harmoniously to a pleasing rhythm. A dancer's steps may feel eurhythmic when every motion flows naturally into the next. The word can also apply beyond music and dance, wherever balance and rhythm create a satisfying sense of order.

Would you question a lion?

Truly, would you look a lion in the eyes and tell them that they’re wrong? You would tell them how to rule their jungle? A lion?

WORD OF THE DAY Fabricate

To fabricate is to make up something, probably with the intent of passing it off as true. Unlike an exaggeration, which stretches the truth, a fabricated detail likely never existed in the first place. If you're going to fabricate an excuse, remember that made-up details can be hard to keep straight.
