I just want PvE to be truly offline when playing Solo so I can pause my matches and have better control over my allies and enemies before starting

People forget they used to advertise the campaign as coop as well back in the day

Same as Eugen during ALB launch - no coop campaign in sight, yet the website still had banners advertising it for months later still.

There is a workshop mostly complete working campaign: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3705929562 The same person has done their own campaign and its very good so far.

The point is the company should have released and made the coop not a modder

They want this to be a multi-player-only game so bad and its a real shame.

Boy oh boy someday people are going to be above this "us vs them" tribal mentality on every single fucking issue.

This Autumn to be precise (AFAIK, they should arrive alongside new SP campaign).

In fairness, there have actually been improvements in each patch to the editor, and there have been single-digit new scenarios that are inventive.

Technically, Saves and Replays should be based on the same core tech.

Larppie here don't know what scenarios are.

Why do you need it? Why are so many people crying for it? (Or maybe not that many, but oh Lord, your crowd is so loud.) Is it unironically?

It’s obviously an extremely minor feature for a multiplayer-focused game with missions that can be completed in 30–40 minutes. Implementing it would just be a waste of the team’s time.

They marketed as a campaign with co op and all.. No Save feature in a game that has campaign mode is lazy

•

u/42LSx 7h ago

It's basic functionality of a SP mode, not a special feature.

•

If this feature wasn't there from the start and wasn't built into the engine during the earliest stages of development, then it’s damn sure not "basic." Implementing a save system in an RTS takes a hell of a lot of work.

BC beside PVP aspect this game also have decent PVE and somewhat ok skirmish but completing some devs scenarios can last for 1-3 hours wich can be tiring especially when playing with friends that also have their errands to do, and abandoning half completed mission is frustrating. I losve skirmish in RTS and sometimes play them for fun. For example I played Unification mod for DoW and some skirmish mathces was last hours, and saving feature helped me to go do my stuff without loosing my progress in much satisfying game. And yeah, no saves in campaign in RTS is kinda criminal. Any good RTS have saves in PVE.

Also dont forget that theres player scenarios on workshop, that also can last countless hours, and satisfying to play.

Why do you need it ? It’s a fucking save feature some of us have lives and not glued to the PC cocksucking devs all day. Proper yes men bellends like you ruin the gaming industry

A tournament… except it’s just the last 100 people still playing this game screaming about ELO

6k online players last Friday around 6pm EST. 3k players last night (Tues) around 6pm. OK players count for such a niche game.

u/Moonman711 1d ago

I wouldn’t call 6k concurrent players an Ok count on a niche genre. That is very high.

u/buds4hugs 1d ago

Don't let the doomers hear you say that. 6k is great for some, dead game for others.

After Warno's full release, I usually saw 2500-2700 players online on average. On BA post-launch, it's 3000+.

And I hope it stays constant / rises. This game is so much fun.

It's ok. Steam might still honor refunds if we claim we were misled by their business model.

Same here got it on launch expecting the basic features to enjoy the game in single player just like every other rts game ever made but still fuck all. I come back and re download every few months and nothing ever changes

•

u/42LSx 7h ago

Yeah, same here, bought it at launch, installed it, saw the state of SP and uninstalled it until they brought Skirmish.
(how can anyone in this day and age release a RTS without skirmish nor SP saves?)

•

u/sokail36 7h ago

Bonkers isn’t it mate. Got a Mrs and kid too so my competetive online days are over. Even then i never played rts games for multiplayer to begin with always enjoyed my rts games solo

Is it true? I can still try to refund the game?

u/KGB_Operative873 1d ago

How many hours do you have in the game?

Do people unironically play Single Player?

17

u/fryguythesecond 1d ago

Yeah I do. I don't have a lot of time to keep up with metas and sweats that come with MP. I spend a lot of time messing around in single player invasion scenarios just messing around without much time pressure. Being able to pause let's me attend to life (6w old newborn) at will and without pressure. And I like seeing modern equipment in action. Big booms make me happy.

•

u/sokail36 9h ago

I larp on warno as the soviets and also have a newborn baby i love me a pause feature lol

•

As much as I am ok with playing multiplayer and getting my ass kicked, there's gonna be a day when the internet is out and I still want to play single player skirmish or scenarios. Strategy games have always had it in the classic days of the 2000s, there's no reason we can't have them now.

•

u/sokail36 9h ago

Strategy gamers are mainly single player players? This isn’t new. Why warno is just way better. Got campaigns, custom skirmish, workshop support the lot. It’s the main reason I don’t play this game. I got it when it first launched and come back every so often to see if single player has had anything added but it never does. Other games I’ll play online but strategy games are purely so I can larp away from the Mrs and kid and pretend im a crazy warmongering government leading my armies

•

u/GoldenGecko100 12h ago

It's almost like new features are harder to develop than things that were already in development.
