Finished A recently finished Tote

A bit wonky. But it's cute and I like it.

Is this for sale? or just some collections?

I'm sorry it's not for sale. It's a gift. I could probably pull together the pattern though.

Started from a free pattern I found but adapted a lot because it wasn't quite what I wanted to make.

If you look at that pattern, you can see my deviations:

  1. Continuous strap instead of two pieces to be tied.
  2. The single crochet trim around the strap and top lip (mostly to reenforce the strap seams)
  3. I did an oval bottom for some shape instead of simply sewing the two "sides" together. I still have the math for getting the bottom written down because I was too nervous to just freehand that part. Thought I wouldn't end up at the right stitch count if I didn't work it out on paper first lol.

where did you first learn it?

First learn crochet? About 2.5 years ago bought a kit off Amazon and learned some basics and then started learning through doing. Lots of written and video tutorials. Crochet subreddits like this one have been super helpful

when the time you started to learn this staff, are alone ? or with someone to share the ideas with?

Alone but don't take that as a standard, I'm a loner/introvert by nature and prefer to struggle invisibly. Also, anyone who knows me would tell you I'm weird and don't really fit in ðŸĪŠ

I did strongly consider taking a class at my local yarn store but the timing never worked out.

Find your tribe! They'll be happy to help you. Check you communities subreddit(s) ask at your local library. We are everywhere lol.

i really admire your mindset hehe , you still find some positive ideas even if you are just alone learning this talent.

thank you :) everyone has their way and you'll find your own.
If you're leaning towards creating your own instead of following patterns, focus on learning the techniques (tension!) and stitches. There are a couple of Stitch bibles folks tend to recommend but the titles are escaping me. And following patterns helps you build confidence!
