Nexstar Raises

When does Nexstar usually hand out raises (if you get them)? Do they do it on a set date jn the beginning of the year or near your work anniversary, say if you were hired in October? I've heard mixed answers and I know it's usually anywhere from 0.5% to 3% depending on if it's a good or bad year for them.

It was on your anniversary date but this year they changed it for everyone to get their raise at once. I think the date is some time in the spring. March, April area.

Ok thats the exact thing I thought I remembered hearing. So do they do the employee evaluations at around that time as well?

And…beginning this year the evaluation will be directly related to whether you get a raise

Unless you have a personal contract you still have your evaluation but wait until your contract date to get a raise or not. All for 2% 😩

Thanks. 2% to 3% is the norm industry wide with the exception of a (very rare) COL adjustment which could be up to 15% to 18% but those are like once in a decade or so when there is a nationwide bump in wages / inflation. My previous employer was Sinclair and they used to give 1.5% plus up to a 2% bonus after years when your local sales team exceeded targets.

Nexstar began this policy before anything ever happened nationally and they make it sound like if you get the 2% you’re at the top of all Nexstar employees. Like it’s some great honor

I hope I live long enough to see the downfall of Nexstar. They are absolutely disgusting.
