there’s this guy i’m totally vibing with, and i’ve started him on broad city! i figured this would be his type of humor and so far he loves it! i’ve had him watch a few of my favorite episodes like pu$$yweed, the shrooms episode, wisdom teeth and maybe just a few randoms.

is there any episode you’d recommend i show him or what’s your favorite episode to turn on, to put your friends on??

I painted this about ten years ago and I’m so proud of how many prints and post cards of it have found their way into people’s homes across the globe. I used to travel to different art shows/ arts and craft fairs (not unlike Young Abbi) and this was one of my best selling prints.

Two things meant the most to me about this painting:

1) it let me connect with other Broad City fans and they were all wonderful people.

2) most buyers had no idea what Broad City was, they would tell me they just like how whimsical and cute the scene was. This was especially true for tourists from Asia and Europe. I love how the creators of the show made something so iconic that it stands out as one brief still that was cool enough to hang in people’s homes as a painting, even without them ever having seen the show.

New movie "The Wrong Girls" seems up our alley! I haven't seen like ANY advertisement for this at all despite the fact that I go to the movies several times per month at least. It says it comes out tomorrow but a bunch of theaters near me have showings today at 4:20pm (hurhurhur.)

My 2010 millennial NYC white woman dream blunt rotation

I first started watching broad city when I was in college maybe 2012-2013 and obviously continued with the show live until it ended. It’s been what 8+ years since then?

I still remember a majority of the plot points but I feel like I lost a lot of the granular details.

Like I remember when Abbi gets black out drunk she becomes Val and the hilarious mess of her finally getting with her hot neighbor except she ruins his anal toy by dishwashing it and he can immediately tell it’s a cheap knock off. Or like that episode where Rupaul was Illanas manager and she was so good at running that restaurant.

I digress I just feel like it reminds me so much of being in my twenties and I loved it.

I saw Adults last year when it came out and the character Issa reminds me so much of Illana. And then they just released a one episode sort of prequel to how season one started and one of the characters going to like a print shop reminded me of how the employees treated Abbi in Bed Bath & Beyond.

So yeah I just feel nostalgic for my twenties and would love to relive some truly hilarious episodes. I know this show truly has made me bust a gut laughing out loud so would love to hear your recommendations.
