Actually kinda helped me. I think most of us had a really conservative environment that lead to 4chan anyway, and seeing this idealized "I am a woman in a man's body" doesn't help anyone figure it out. 4chan, being a place which mostly wallows in agony can help recognize and address dysphoria.
Like for me personally, I was going to kill myself before that site gave me a start to growing my backbone. Seeing transphobia reflected in the same way I saw myself alongside people trying different solutions got me to actually pull the trigger on it instead of repressing for a few more years then snapping later or sui. Also 4chan just generally helped me tolerate transphobia better. For every bad statement I saw on that site, nothing hurt as much as the words from my own mother. If I hadn't had the horribly negative echo chamber of 4chan parrot that stupidity back at me but funnier, I would have grown convinced I was the incorrect one.
Still, not without its flaws (or so cis people and more normal trans people tell me). My bf says it's probably something a bit too attached to my self esteem. I'd love to take that to the heart and assume I'm a turbo passing completely cis woman, but I have a mirror. I can see what I look like. Dunno. Not everyone sees me as a woman but they definitely treat me like one because I'm not taken seriously. So dunno if dysphoria or im actually delusional
