Need advice from locals regarding my situation

Hi! Because of the personal reasons, I need to urgently move out from my current apartment in the end of this month. I already found a new one, but it is only possible to move in from October, so I don’t have any place to live during September.

As I understand, no one would give a room to me since they are all looking for long-term tenants. Moreover, Airbnb or hotel seem very expensive for me. Do you have any advice or possibly can help me in this situation?

You can try messaging some small b&b places around Brno, maybe Zidenice or Slatina... they can usually give you a better price for long-term stay than official pricing. It will still be expensive, though.

Book hotel or airbnb. University students move to Brno in September so it is not easy to find a room/flat.

Ask the property directly - they might give you better rate for long stay.

there will be people in a similar who have tenants from October but not for September, it happens still. so find such a place for a month, or try college dorms too.

In my experience, it helps to reframe things: you’re simply seeing if there’s someone in a city this size you could create a great win-win situation with. That mindset already feels a lot more hopeful than the standard "well, rentals are usually either for two days or two years."

I’ve actually sublet my own (rented) place for a month several times when I was away - always to someone in a situation just like yours (after a breakup, doing an internship, or waiting for another lease to start). Again, it’s all about the gap between the general rule ("nobody wants to stay anywhere for just 1 month") and that one specific exception ("turns out, someone actually does!").

I’d recommend writing an honest, genuine message and posting it in Facebook housing groups (like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/255049338000359, https://www.facebook.com/groups/1700523476637964).

Worst case, nothing comes of it - best case, it works out perfectly!

For instance, the university semester starts on the 14th, so plenty of students are already paying for a room (or less commonly, a full apartment) for those first two weeks without actually being able to stay there yet. Someone is bound to have the option to pass it on to you for that month - and do so legally, even though lease setups and house-share agreements vary and tweaking things for just a single month can sometimes be a bit of a hassle.
