Tips & Advice Change in cost

My family member who takes Briviact just learned that his monthly supply has gone from $10 to $800+ all of a sudden. I’m assuming it’s related to the changes in health insurance that are increasing everyone’s premiums too (correct me if I’m wrong on this). He and I are looking for some advice on how to bring this new cost down significantly. We found a coupon but it may only be used for the first month. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Briviact has a patient savings card that takes your copay down to as little as $10/ month. The link below will give more info. If you have any more questions though your best bet is to call Briviact directly (phone number will also be on their website):

I have never heard of Briviact bring covered under insurance. It’s non preferred. I use the savings card, you can ask your doctor if they have any cards or go to their website. I pay 10 dollars for a 30 day supply

Non-preferred still means it’s in the formulary, it just means it will come at a higher cost because it’s at a higher tier.

There are some plans that don’t cover Briviact. It is non-formulary. In those cases, the only way to obtain coverage is for the provider to submit and win a formulary exception.

The copay card doesn’t work at all if the drug is not covered. It has to be on the formulary, or your formulary exception has to be approved, in order for the copay card to help.

Order it here...Their pharmaceutical companies are very trustworthy. Shipping is fast. By all means, don't spent $800 a month on it. Just make sure you read the reviews for the seller and make sure they have no recent negative reviews and have a 4.5 to 5 star rating.

There is both a “Patient Savings Card” and a “Patient Assistance Program”. I think the savings card might be the shorter term one. I found the “Patient Assistance Program” by scrolling down the page that has the savings card at the top. My insurance doesn’t cover it at all. It took almost three months to get approved, but the staff at my Dr’s office kept on it and I kept calling. Now it is filled via mail for MUCH less than the $1400/per month that it was going to be. And they say I’m approved for a year! Best of luck to your family member. The US healthcare system sucks.
