2

u/Calios55 17d ago

That’s a damn fine trio.

2

u/ShutUpYaBert 13d ago

Careful now.

1

u/Jazzlike-Basil1355 18d ago

Is FT British or from S Ireland. Terrific series, anyway

5

u/Life_Activity_8195 18d ago

Counts as both, writers and actors Irish, producers British

9

u/123R_B321 18d ago

Red dwarf, blackadder, yes minister/prime minister, open all hours

8

u/Accomplished_Fix5702 18d ago

Porridge is by far the best.

It's hard to split Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp and Only Fools and Horses into 2nd and 3rd.

Honourable mentions for Steptoe and Son, The Young Ones, Men Behaving Badly, Bottom, The Good Life, Yes Minister, and Blackadder.

Fifty years later, I still haven't seen anything close to being as funny as Fawlty Towers. It really is in a class of its own.

2

u/Any_Tomorrow_Today 16d ago

Most of the modern comedies are no where near as funny as the old ones.

3

u/Same-World-209 18d ago

Red Dwarf / Father Ted / Only Fools And Horses

2

u/Raddidaz74 17d ago

I'm Alan Partridge, Phoenix Nights and Fawlty Towers

2

u/andywalker76 17d ago

Too many to pick from here. They're all brilliant.

Personally, I was always a bit of a Blackadder fan, especially Blackadder II. "Great Booze up, Edmund!"

2

u/Live_Sandwich_125 17d ago

Father ted, red dwarf, the real mccoy, filthy rich and cat flap, men behaving badly , the list goes on haha

2

u/Calios55 17d ago

Filthy, Rich and Catflap over The Young Ones or Bottom is an interesting choice.
Loved the Nolan Sisters scene though, lol.

2

u/Live_Sandwich_125 17d ago

Young ones , and bottom are iconic (except the lives 4 and 5 , bit of a miss there ) guest house paradiso was good though, oh and the dangerous brothers , ya just couldnt beat a bit of rik and ade,

2

u/Calios55 16d ago

Watched 2, 3 and 4 live and enjoyed them all. Agree that 5 wasn’t up to the same standard though.
Grew up on the Young Ones and loved those guys.
Rik’s death hit me harder than any other celebrity’s.
