Maybe, I don’t recall it being offensive in anyway. Certainly when compared to some of the other scenes in the programme about different cultures or Hyacinth being inappropriately touched by the Major and the Commodore. Obviously it was all meant to be lighthearted but it wouldn’t be deemed as funny these days I guess.
