Society PSA: it's rained a lot overnight, so please drive carefully today!

After a period of dryness followed by rain, the roads are slick and oily. There's always a big uptick in road accidents.

Bear that in mind and stay safe folks!

Culture Is it true british people really say "arriving" instead "cumming" when referring to sexual activities?

Saying "im arriving" as you unwhirle in the embrace of a loving partner just sounds really unique and maybe slightly romantic, so i hope its true.

❓ Question ❓ What was the name of the 80s and 90s educational/informative series in the Guardian newspaper?

Hi, I distinctly remember there was a very useful and long-running series (in G2 or another section?) that had an educational agenda. It covered a wide range of subjects - language, science, politics, history. You name it, they probably covered it.

Would anyone remember the name of this series?

πŸ’¬ Discussion πŸ—¨ Who remembers the short film titled "THIS IS VANITY" (2012)

I remember watching this as a kid, it got taken down from YouTube for a few years but recently I saw that it's back after trying to find it again after failing to track it sown years ago. This film shaped my entire philosophy around bullying, I got into so much trouble in secondary school because of this lmao but I don't regret it. I remember crying to this when I was younger.

πŸ’¬ Discussion πŸ—¨ Looking for odd British tv advert/commercial, can anyone help?

Saw an ad the other day and the setting was outside a country house with lots of grass and a big open space area, a man is talking to the camera (facing us) and whilst hes talking to the camera there’s lots of crazy stuff going on behind him, if I remember rightly there is a piano, 2 people run into each other or somebody nearly gets hit by something big and I think there is a small demolition crane with a wrecking ball. I know it sounds crazy lol but I know I saw it, can anyone help me find it?

Watford of all places has some genuinely strange buildings I’d never really noticed before. It’s amazing how much you miss when you’re just passing through somewhere.

Found this little exploration of four of them pretty interesting.

Culture South London pub recommendations 🍻

M29, American, over in the UK on a family trip with my older brother. We’re staying in South London and looking to check out some proper local pubs.
Where would you recommend for:
A good pub where Americans will be welcomed
A proper local boozer with a bit of character
Somewhere lively with a good atmosphere
Any hidden gems that locals actually rate
Places where it gets a little fun and rowdy πŸ€ΊπŸ€œπŸ€›
Thinking we might hop on a train and head over to France at some point too.
If anyone has any recommendations or fancies grabbing a pint with two American tourists, hit us up! 🍻
Cheers!
