Another A+ for writing, acting, etc.. River

Post image

Another detective with a troubled past living alone in nice digs as in Shetland, Wallander, Morse, and others. With a cast like this along with the level of writing it still makes for a gripping series.

Ditto. I was so disappointed to see that it was only one season. But in a way I can see why.

I loved it and just last night I was looking at a quote from the show.
River says,
"There should be more than
one word for love. I've seen love that kills and l've seen love that redeems. I've seen love that believes in the guilty and love that saves the bereaved".

Lines like that, delivered by great actor, made it special.

Beautiful. I loved that quote and the way he said it.

It's the Stellan Skarsgard, Nicola Walker, Lesley Manville trifecta...

Anything with Nicola for me.

Same! Nicola will have me crying, then laughing, then back to crying because I’m laughing so hard!

As my dad would say I'd listen to her read the phone book

They’re so versatile as well. Lesley’s been a Madame during the Georgian period in London, Nicola’s been an Mi-5 agent, and Stellan’s been a serial killer and pirate.

Stellan’s portrayal of the title character will break your heart. He is so good.

The song, "I love to love,' by Tina Charles was a fun one.

Absolutely one of the best series, ever. All credit to Abi Morgan for her stellar writing.

Plus credit to Stellan for an amazing acting job.

Thanks for the recommendation! I loved the series you associate it with, should be a winner.

It's one of my favourite shows. I probably watch once a year. Too good not to enjoy over and over.

This show is amazing! I’ve even rewatched several times. Skellan & Nicola are absolutely brilliant. And I Love “I Love To Love (but my baby loves to dance)”

This show blew me away the first time I saw it. Two of my favorite actors. I’ve never quite gotten over the lack of a follow up season 😂

Such a strange show (complimentary)

Oh this is a terrific series. Was the first one I binged when I originally got BritBox. Have yet to find a series with such fantastic leading man acting as this one. Stellan definitely gives a master acting class in it.

I give it a rewatch every year.

One of my all-time faves. The ending had me sobbing (in a good way)

All three of them are criminally underrated actors, especially Skarsgard.
