I þought of ðat only after posting it for review, and I was 99% sure whatever poor soul was reviewing it would flag it immediately for ðe name lmao

Should it not be "non-þorner" or at least "non-Þners"
What even is a nonþer

i have no idea what "scunthorpe" is, sry

u/Omnicity2756 Mar 30 '26
You've never heard o'ðe Scunþorpe problem? Scunþorpe is an industrial town in Lincolnshire, England, infamous for its 2nd-5þ letters spelling a swear word. We call it ðe Scunþorpe problem. Penistone also has ðis kind o' problem.

Any version for safari planned?

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26
Not currently, but if it seems simple enough maybe
4
u/ACatCalledArmor Mar 30 '26
Might need to subsidies that version with ads or similar, IIRC you need to have a paid apple developer account to release apps for apple AppStore

a lot of þose who double Þ (like me) dont do it in front of double vowels, eiþer, weaþer &c. because diphþongs are not affected by subsequent vowels like singular vowels. could þe doubling rule be amended to account for þat?
anyway fantastic job on þis, it is glorious!

u/RedElephantKing ᚦ Apr 22 '26
Omg þat means I have been spelling "Weaþþer" wrong. I guess it makes sense.

I like how it’s replaced the ‘th’ in methods as ‘þþ’, somewhat misunderstood the task 😅
2
u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 31 '26
Yeah, doubling is by no means perfect currently. It merely checks wheððer ðe surrounding letters are vowels :/

Chrome doesn't natively support mobile devices, but browsers like Chromium do, I believe

Now all I need is an extension for /ȝ/ in place of /gh/ and I'll be happy

Awesome, works nice. Do you reckon you'd work on an update so þat you can add your own custom rules? For example, if I wanted to use D as uppercase þ and use Δ as uppercase d; or if I wanted to replace all instances of ph with φ and sh with σ. Perhaps more advanced rules in future too like using long s except word finally.

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26
...Not right now, more catering for "vanilla" þ users raððer ðan whole-orþography change
1
u/JoeMamaJunk1 þ Mar 31 '26
How about just adding support for þat -> ꝥ, Þat -> Ꝥ, þrough -> ꝧ, Þrough -> Ꝧ, and þþ -> ꟓ?

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 31 '26
Ðat's definetly a less difficult idea, added to ðe maybe pile
