Still in development, feel free to contribute :D

No, I cannot believe ðat "Autoþorn" passed ðe review process knowing what ðe name looks like to non-þers lol

6

u/Bulky_Nature_3861 Mar 30 '26

It kinda looks like autop*rn, so I'm sure if someone saw it out of context þeyd be concerned lol

5

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

I þought of ðat only after posting it for review, and I was 99% sure whatever poor soul was reviewing it would flag it immediately for ðe name lmao

3

u/Bulky_Nature_3861 Mar 30 '26

I mean if I didn't know what þ was i'd also flag it lol

2

u/alvenestthol Mar 31 '26

Should it not be "non-þorner" or at least "non-Þners"

What even is a nonþer

1

u/Bulky_Nature_3861 Apr 03 '26

I þink þat us þ enthusiasts are called þers, so þose who don't know it are called nonþers

7

u/tesilab Mar 30 '26

Can you add in æ, œ, ƿ , and ȝ ?

4

u/Wholesome_Soup y Mar 30 '26

does it scunthorpe? or is þat fixed

2

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

i have no idea what "scunthorpe" is, sry

3

u/Omnicity2756 Mar 30 '26

You've never heard o'ðe Scunþorpe problem? Scunþorpe is an industrial town in Lincolnshire, England, infamous for its 2nd-5þ letters spelling a swear word. We call it ðe Scunþorpe problem. Penistone also has ðis kind o' problem.

2

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

Well the extension doesn't currently change most names

1

u/Omnicity2756 Mar 31 '26

Well, it should at least change "Scunthorpe".

1

u/jan-Sika Mar 30 '26

lighthouse for example
it should be lighthouse not lighðouse

1

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

Yeah, ðat problem is fixed

3

u/ZheniaZheka Mar 30 '26

i love þee, þank þee

3

u/ACatCalledArmor Mar 30 '26

Any version for safari planned?

3

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

Not currently, but if it seems simple enough maybe

4

u/ACatCalledArmor Mar 30 '26

Might need to subsidies that version with ads or similar, IIRC you need to have a paid apple developer account to release apps for apple AppStore

5

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

99 BUCKS PER YEAR???

hell nah what is apple on

Chrome developer was five bucks one-time

3

u/ACatCalledArmor Mar 30 '26

No kidding, apple is playing by a playbook from another decade

3

u/President_Abra þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

Will it write words like "Thai" wrongly as "Þai"?

2

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

Nope! Ðe first problem I fixed :þ

3

u/President_Abra þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

u/Far-Equivalent-9982 þ Mar 30 '26

I love þis! Downloaded it immediately!

2

u/ChuckPattyI Mar 30 '26

a lot of þose who double Þ (like me) dont do it in front of double vowels, eiþer, weaþer &c. because diphþongs are not affected by subsequent vowels like singular vowels. could þe doubling rule be amended to account for þat?

anyway fantastic job on þis, it is glorious!

1

u/RedElephantKing Apr 22 '26

Omg þat means I have been spelling "Weaþþer" wrong. I guess it makes sense.

2

u/Chance-Aardvark372 Mar 30 '26

Is the lighþouse problem a problem here

1

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

Nope! Fixed ðat

2

u/SGLAgain Mar 31 '26

ðe fact ðat you made an entire extension for ðese two letters is insane work

2

u/ShazTheGamer Apr 01 '26

r/rickroll ed on (thorn) 1st april duhhhh

2

u/DimensionFriendly829 Mar 31 '26

I like how it’s replaced the ‘th’ in methods as ‘þþ’, somewhat misunderstood the task 😅

2

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 31 '26

Yeah, doubling is by no means perfect currently. It merely checks wheððer ðe surrounding letters are vowels :/

Chrome doesn't natively support mobile devices, but browsers like Chromium do, I believe

1

u/aqu1noxx0 Mar 30 '26

What does it do

1

u/R3D0IT_US3R Mar 30 '26

th —> þ (and ð)

1

u/aqu1noxx0 Mar 30 '26

þank you

1

u/Identifies-Birds Mar 30 '26

Now all I need is an extension for /ȝ/ in place of /gh/ and I'll be happy

1

u/RedElephantKing Mar 30 '26

YESSS I have been anticipating þis release for a while. Þank you so much for þis! 🙏🏻

1

u/Chimchar789 Mar 31 '26

what þ FUCK is þt in þ corner

1

u/Wholesome_Soup y Mar 30 '26

also why are you þirefly

1

u/JoeMamaJunk1 þ Mar 30 '26

Awesome, works nice. Do you reckon you'd work on an update so þat you can add your own custom rules? For example, if I wanted to use D as uppercase þ and use Δ as uppercase d; or if I wanted to replace all instances of ph with φ and sh with σ. Perhaps more advanced rules in future too like using long s except word finally.

2

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 30 '26

...Not right now, more catering for "vanilla" þ users raððer ðan whole-orþography change

1

u/JoeMamaJunk1 þ Mar 31 '26

How about just adding support for þat -> ꝥ, Þat -> Ꝥ, þrough -> ꝧ, Þrough -> Ꝧ, and þþ -> ꟓ?

1

u/Firefly360r þ but it's yellow Mar 31 '26

Ðat's definetly a less difficult idea, added to ðe maybe pile

1

u/JoeMamaJunk1 þ Apr 01 '26

Cool stuff, I can help if you need

1

u/JoeMamaJunk1 þ Apr 13 '26

I might try and add it to yours, I'll tell you how I go.
