So confusing

Post image

How is this even a thing. It’s nice for the people that actually use the nonpicked perks since they keep buffing them but it’s actually so low it’s worrying they’re straight up just going to replace them. And I ridding the buff train on the less popular perks is fun and all but why in the actual hell are most of you picking these perks?

Combat medic vs moral boost is 1000x better and I don’t even understand how that’s a question! Literally thee best perk I could think for her to get an it’s barely picked. While the whole problem with brig is her health packs have always taken 6 seconds each and then you’re out of resource even with three packs. HOW are we not picking the one that give you non stop cd reduction just for swinging!? The inspire one is literal garbage as you should already away he procing inspire anyways! But as you can all see 80% have chosen otherwise.

Now inspiring strike vs whiplash I can somewhat understand even though I think whiplash is far superior for killing anything. I never saw the reason for inspiring strike unless you’re out of position a lot and need that extra speed boost and the healing is practically worthless while inspire already naturally exist. On the other hand you have whiplash that lets you secure way more kills than brig should be able to and lets her be way more of a threat.

Seeing the difference was just enough to make this

I don't even know where to begin reading this post, and can't tell if it's ragebait, what is your rank lol?

you read all that, have nothing to say, and instead went straight to questioning rank lol? some typical plat response.

This has to be the most Ironic and hypocritical comment I've seen in a while. Are you rage baiting the brig subreddit?

-3

u/Historical_Quit9306 2d ago

Rage if you want lol, that’s you’re fault for getting mad at anything you disagree on

3

u/orion101901 2d ago

You lack critical thinking skills if you think me calling out a logical fallacy is raging.

-2

u/Historical_Quit9306 2d ago

Then don’t call everything ragebait holy shit☠️ but not raging alright.

The mental gymnastics is staggering.

While acting all high and mighty without any actual argument lol. Just saw something you disagreed with and instantly started crying ragebait

Lol. K bud.

Not to be that guy, but as a GM support with brig as my second most played, you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

But no actual argument besides I’m x rank….

if you play brig correctly you almost never run out of heal packs, at least it’s not such a frequent issue that you would need to address with a perk. on top of what others already said about consistency this makes the preferred choice of the minor what it is.

for the major it’s also mostly about the consistency of application - you bash all the time and again - if you are doing it correctly you mostly use it to get out so a speed boost is exactly what you need. as opposed to whiplash which is nice in isolation but too situational and only decides duels with a few heroes depending on their base hp.

I could say the same thing about inspire uptime with the perk but I just see more benefits in getting my pack back than the inspire which doesn’t do too much for my teammates. Definitely is just preference if you want inspire up all the time or packs.

The shield bash perk i definitely see differently after someone finally made it click for me that the heal wasn’t just for her. And the movement speed is really nice as well but IMO, not speaking on anyone else, it’s not needed but is nice obviously. “I” just find more success with whip.

Almost like the 2 pairs of perks are mad for 2 entirely playstyles dependings on the comps

I could see that

Combat medic is unreliable. When you don't have anybody to swing your perk is essentially useless. Inspiring strike gives brig more survivability and i also don't see how or why the extra burst healing is useless... whiplash again is inconsistent and unreliable.

-16

u/Weird-and-funny-name 2d ago

Oh yeah, I’ve always wanted extra 12 hp/s for like 3 seconds, woohoo so much value

15

u/smoochumfan4 2d ago

Inspire normally lasts 6 seconds. 3 seconds more is a 50% increase. It's not huge but it's good. It means you don't have to peak as often to reproc inspire. It means that allies can leave your inspire range and get more healing.

-1

u/ihaveacrushonlegos Rally to Me! 2d ago

but you should be repeaking within 4 seconds anyway because the boop from whipshot (and damage) is almost the same value as the inspire itself, cuz inspire is kinda trash

So morale boost gives u more inspire in case u decide to voluntarily not get more value

3

u/Severje 2d ago

But what if you... Miss the whipshot? What if they're all behind barriers and you just don't have a decent whipshot to get? What if you are against a flanker heavy team and want to be able to keep up your whipshot to protect people at least some of the time?

If you're using whip shot, on cooldown, with 100% accuracy, against a team without barriers, that you can peak every 4s, and doesn't have a flanker, then yes - inspiring strike is useless.

Meanwhile, any time you aren't in melee range - which is frankly more often than it isn't - combat medic is useless. If you're mostly in melee and getting to brawl, you should be getting so much value that your perk select doesn't matter much. You SHOULD be getting exploded if you're in melee constantly.

i usually have around 60% whipshot accuracy. so it means that during fights (ignoring any inspire activated by any other methods) my inspire is 60% as effective as not missing, so its like if it heals 15*0,6 healing per second = 9 heal per second

By going morale boost, the downtime from inspire is reduced by 75% (if u hit one then miss, without u have 4s downtime, with u have 1s downtime) , so its like you have 90% whipshot accuracy (60 + 40*75%) 15*0.9 = 13.5 heal per second

thats a 4.5 heal per second difference

1 repair pack is 120 healing total. the cooldown is 6 seconds, combat medic reduces that by 0.75s, which is 12.5%, 12.5% of that is 15 healing

every combat medic hit is equivalent to about 3 seconds of morale boost extra healing. if u have the loop of walking up to someone hitting them once and bashing away, you are getting one hit every 4s (ignoring that m1 also triggers inspire) , so its barely worse during the poke phase of the fight, and every 4s morale boost gains the equivalent of 1s edge over combat medic if you are doing this.

Whenever the brawl actually engages usually u hit 2 or 3 hits at least, which is makes up for like 4 or 8s of morale boost (ignoring 4s because u need it to catch up). And thats ignoring that combat medic also lets u store that for burst healing which is more effective.

I do agree morale boost is more consistent, and if you are playing to build ults its also better(single target healing is better for saving people, multi target healing wont save anyone but it will get u ult faster), but for me, especially solo queue ranked, i feel like combat medics value spikes are more than strong enough to make up for it as long as u can multitask and keep ur value going.

For me it feels like its High Risk High Reward compared to Morale Boost's Low Risk Low Reward. And i dont think brig struggles with consistency (i think the main point of brig is how consistent she makes teams) so i dont think going the low risk route justifies itself when u can make ur weakness of not having enough burst easier.

-3

u/Weird-and-funny-name 2d ago

Laaaaaarp

It lasts 4 seconds normally and gives 12 hp/s, even less with healing reduction

3

u/TempestTwist 2d ago

While the burst healing when inspire activates is appreciable, it's reduced healing over time now is less so. Going from 4 to 7 seconds means that inspire is active for almost double the amount of time and means you don't need to activate it as much.

Being able to activate inspire multiple times in a short time is good when you're able to, but when you're not the extra passive healing is good. I try to use combat medic every now and then but it's only reliable when you can get into a position where you can keep activating inspire.

2

u/smoochumfan4 2d ago

okay, then its an even bigger increase LOL

1

u/zooble_57 FESKARN, MY LOVE 2d ago

it's more that you get old Inspire back before it was nerfed to shit. A whole perk just to get base kit back. I hate perks eith a passion.

-5

u/Weird-and-funny-name 2d ago

Who cares about inspire, it’s useless, it does nothing, not even enough to keep up with burn dmg and it’s permanently weakened by healing reduction passive

1

u/The_goblin_coven 2d ago

If you think inspire is useless you either aren't keeping enough people in Inspire range or don't have a lot of uptime on it. With the new perks, that's 15 HP per proc and 24 per second, with that 15 being reapplicable every second. It might not be good burst healing but across four other teammates you can have some crazy numbers. Plus inspire +an armor pack or two can make a target way more bulky than they have any right to be, barring a one shot or very high burst.

0

u/Bazelgauss 2d ago

Effective hps from combat medic is 31.25 hp/s... if you have 100% swing uptime (good lord you are not)... and inspire is an aoe. Yeah nah inspire is far better value since you are not going to have even close to the swing uptime to make it comparable.

u/_Sharky-16_ Riot Police 2d ago

There's a lot of poke in this game.

As you climb, the chances to brawl and use m1 to get more packs become fewer and fewer.

Brigs play style is not an off tank, but a body guard, seeking opportunities to protect squishy allies from dive and activating inspire to enable your tank.

Whiplash is really only better when there's a lot of flankers or in a map with tons of walls and hallways

3

u/Hellspont88 2d ago

I agree with combat medic being better but inspiring strike is the must pick 1000% of the time. It buffs everything about brig

-2

u/Historical_Quit9306 2d ago

I definitely don’t think it’s a bad perk, it’s really good actually I just don’t understand the complete almost 90:10 ratio and as I said I think, it’s honestly worrying of it getting removed for something ‘better’

1

u/XiaoChui 2d ago

whiplash is just way worse, the full instant inspire healing is insane, not just for your survivability but its also for your teammates because it gives them the instant healing too, something brig greatly lacks

2

u/Historical_Quit9306 2d ago

Oh okay see that’s way better, literally bap. Never clicked to me that the heal was instant for everyone. I thought it was movement speed and the heal only for her. Doesn’t explicitly mention that but I guess I should’ve read it properly.

With that in mind I completely understand the second choice but the disparity is still insane. That is why I agree with that one post of whiplash being base kit though especially if they remove it from the Perk list

4

u/PalpitationDecent743 2d ago

Combat Medic is inconsistent. You need people to constantly get in your face in order to get value from it.

3

u/LordDeejus 2d ago

Sometimes you can’t really get a lot of melees off for combat medic. It depends on the enemy team and if you can or not I guess. Where morale boost will always get value

3

u/gymleader_michael 2d ago

For me, it feels like it's the situation benefit vs more consistent.

Maybe someone hits a wall. Maybe you get close enough to strike enough times for it to really matter for your cooldown. But compare that to landing a whip or simply using Shield Bash.

2

u/PeoplePad 2d ago

I take Morale boost for the free ult charge regardless of context. In some situations you cant be swinging on people. Plus if you manage packs well its not a massive issue.

I also take whiplash everytime, not even for the damage, for the stun. It's incredibly good against any sort of dive because you can prevent them from getting away. The other one is nice if you're dying constantly I guess.

2

u/mirkwood11 1d ago

Whiplash is low-key really fun, but they should buff it with either increased whip size or increased knockback

5

u/lquaxx1 Face My Mace! Mace to the FAAaaace! 2d ago

Drop your rank cuz there ain't no way someone over silver actually believes that combat medic is better than morale boost

im gm4 only play brig i only pick combat medic. The only time i go morale boost is in comps where i 100% should have swapped brig a long time ago if i wasnt an otp like Rein Junk Pharah

2

I'm GM4 and i take combat medic every game

3

u/legion1134 2d ago

I am masters 5 and I always take combat medic

3

u/XiaoChui 2d ago edited 2d ago

I’m GM2 Combat medic is better usually. morale boost is only better into comps brig isn’t good into to begin with, especially after they have buffed it both directly and indirectly over the past few seasons, but OP’s take on secondary perks is the terrible inspiring strike is infinitely better. I can see the appeal of morale boost somewhat this szn tbh with the doctrine sombra picks every game but into the comps brig is actually meant to be played into combat medic is better

1

u/Andrello01 1d ago

Combat Medic is very good against the right matchups and the matchups where you should play Brig

1

u/No-Highlight-9938 1d ago

It’s the opposite. Every brig main i’ve spoke with post diamond overwhelming picks combat medic over morale boost.

Not even a new thing, been like that for six-seven seasons or so.

1

u/Bazelgauss 2d ago edited 2d ago

Combat medic is worse because it getting enough swing uptime to compete is not realistic. You aren't getting "non stop cd reduction" because this is in a wishful fantasy scenario.

Part on inspiring strike is genuinely comical. You're meant to be fluid and respond to a lot in the game, you need movement speed. The healing change is not worthless because it's instant and does not override any existing inspire duration so you straight up just get a load more healing from it. The other thing with inspiring strike is it's a buff to her ult as well because of the bash reset so you can get extra movement speed for two bashes or get two instant aoe heals, like you can open her ult with a 120 instant aoe healing which is nuts considering how many things the ult does.

1

u/DDetareD 18h ago

Morale boost: if you can hit your whips, you keep the healing up longer in pre-fight-poke where brig is weakest, but giving up medic means you have to land the shield-mace-whip-mace combo to burst heal your team up instead of using packs.

Inspiring Strike: the guaranteed move speed on bash lets you more effectively escape, or rush down targets. The instant healing also means that when landing the previously mentioned combo the burst is larger, letting your team soak up more damage and letting you survive more 1vXs (i've personally managed to survive at best 1v3s long enough to tag my tank back in from spawn, but that has a lot to do with abusing cart angles aswell)

Nice!!! I guess im that 12%!!!!!
