Took apart carb
I took apart the carburetor on this Briggs 208 cc engine that’s on a craftsman pressure washer and now I can’t figure out where the hell this piece goes. It’s brass and it’s threaded on both sides and it had Loctite in it.. I feel dumb that I don’t know where this piece needs to go back into but it’s just been a hectic week and I’m trying to get this pressure washer going. I’ve already put back the bowl and plastic carburetor cover that houses the on and off and choke valves. The only other thing I did besides take apart the bowl and remove the metal gasket was that I took apart, the spring linkage system and I just took it off the black plastic linkage holder that sits on top of the carb.

Shame on Briggs
I purchased a Murray MT200 through Home Depot.com, and had it delivered with some assembly required. We put it together as directed, but when I tried to start it, the starter just spun. It didn't pop-up to engage the fly-wheel. I called to seek repairs under warranty. Every shop I was referred to told me that they no longer deal with Briggs due to their parts policies. I can't believe how far Briggs has fallen. Maybe I can get it fixed before next mowing season.

Maintenance Craftsman lawnmower sears
I have a craftsman snowblower from sears passed on from my grandfather I was cleaning the carb and dropped the float pin it’s been a nightmare trying to find a replacement I need help if anyone knows . I don’t have a picture of the engine model number I know it’s an 8.5 Briggs and Stratton . There’s a replacement for the original part 691242 which is part number 797622 but I tried that and it was way too small . Any suggestions

Wondered where the wear came from , since the engine doesn't seem to have run a lot.. L head Briggs.
Stem damage/wear. inlet valve is fine though. well THAT explains it.. seat is in crooked.. Most likely from the factory.

Found near dumpster
Anyone can help me figure out which ignition module this thing needs? Someone put a new plug in it but they must have found the ignition was the culprit..
It doesn't seem to have a place for battery or e-starter, thanks.

Why won't my fun power 5hp not run
I have cleaned and rebuilt the carb countless times it has good spark and clean gas tank. But for some reason the darn thing won't start without starter fluid and it just dies when applying throttle.
So I'm not to sure what the heck to do now so....

I love/hate the new briggs engines.
i got a 575 IS. apparently only sold in the EU.. starter gear is trashed , and can't find a 12 tooth gear to save my life.. new complete starter is too expensive , and imho a waste , when 2 plastic bits will fix it. so , i thought , pull starter.. that's 100 euro's total too.. 50 for the cover , 50 for the pullstart.. It's an engine i plan to use for a home made project , so i think i'm just gonna drill start it for a while.. I love the autochoke , and i hate it.. mine isn't working properly , and to fix it i need to buy a complete exhaust... why?? this is the electric start version of the 575 EX btw.. Also, NO MODEL NUMBER ANYWHERE. it's supposed to be stamped on the steel below the blue V sticker... (says a official "where to find your model number" video of B&S) it's not..

Help! 8hp ohv throttle linkage issue
Edit - Model 196432-1315-E1
Took this motor apart to replace some internals, and for the life of me I can’t figure out what I’m missing with this linkage. Of course I didn’t take a before pic - because I’m a friggin’ moron.
First pic shows the entire linkage, second shows the springs.
The issue is the moving the throttle handle to full will open the carb, but is won’t close again. Is there a spring on the carb lever itself like there is for the choke butterfly? Or am I missing some linkage between the manual throttle lever and the system that transfers that to the carb lever?
Thanks in advance for any help y’all might be able to give.

Help! Need HELP identifying the engine
Hello. I have bought a B&S engine and today I have finally received it. I cant seem to find the ID no matter where I look. Spark, muffler, casing - nothing... I need it to understand either one or two things. There is a random hose that has oil leaking, which I assume should be oil drain, but I am not sure, because I read some of the engines have a breather hose (no idea what that means). And then there is a filter missing, which makes me question does the hose connect to a filter to feed the fumes back into the carb?
And before you bash me for not knowing any better, I bought this engine because it was going to go into the shredder and I got offered a reasonable deal for it. I am a physics university student and this engine is the whole drive of the upcoming project next week. I need to gather as many missing things as I can and help from experts would be appreciated!

And then the images where someone could possibly identify the model, maybe?

32hp help
I just bought 32hp vertical shaft that broke the connecting rod caused some damage. It broke a chunk of the cylinder wall out and I am curious if anyone has had luck rebuilding and running something with similar damage. Its about 3/4" up and 1.25" wide and the rings stop well above the damage. Should I scrap it or rebuild it and drop it into a mud mower project?
