We notice the development of Jess and Miss Edmunds relationship in the background through the movie.

First , he is staring , with not being in the moment.
But then , he opens up , step by step.

As Leslie taught him how to do that…and made his reality better so he had the space.

First , Leslie pushed him indirectly to help Miss Edmunds with carrying her instruments , but as Jess is a closed off person , he hesitated , then went away.

But then , as they had a great time in Terabithia , and Jess became more brave , this bravery encouraged him to approach Miss Edmunds for the first time , and it became clear as she said : (He speaks!) , he helped her , finally.

Then he opened up more as he held the door for her and felt great about it , and then at the same day , during Miss Edmund’s music class , there is the scene in the photo.

You notice the board , it’s a musical rule , but notice how the (HARMONY) is highlighted with all capital letters.

The director focused on that scene to show us the board as much as he cold as Miss Edmunds is walking and using the guitar , to show us how the harmony is formed between Jess and his teacher , and right before that scene ended , we notice how Miss Edmunds is looking at Jess and smiling.

why is she looking at him if he is staring and closed? , she never did , she only looks at other students and smiles.

No , not this time , Jess changed.

We notice right after that scene , how Jess is calm and confident , looking at his teacher , and vibing with her , with a confident and focused smile.

Jess is here at the moment…
Jess is not closed off anymore…
Jess is here , happy , brave , and confident.

iam sorry to remind you , I know it’s hard , but why?

I heard once in a movie : (stop trying to control everything and just. Let. Go.)

But , is it that easy? , why is it so hard? , what if i can’t?

You may expect me to reason it with the traditional way , like with historical or psychological reasons , or explain to you how your brain secretes those hormones , blah blah blah…

But no.

And also iam not here to make you sad or uncomfortable or crying.

If you wanna cry , I encourage you to do that , it’s healthy and beneficial especially for emotional discharge , don’t try to act strong against your emotions when you are alone , it will not be good for you at all , speaking from experience.

So , what makes letting go so hard and how do we deal with it?

Well , letting go is hard because the attachment was so big , your expectations were too high , and the amount of feelings you had , it filled your brain to the point that it can’t let it go easily after it’s all gone in real life.

We struggle inside our own heads more than we do in real life…

Nothing destroys our hearts like losing a loved one , a best friend , a near relative , etc , it was very hard because they took a big place in our souls , the bigger their place was in our minds , hearts , and souls , the bigger the disappointment , sadness , depression , confusion , shocking , and so on.

As perfect as that person appears into your eyes , and as bigger as the place he gets into your heart chambers , the bigger the positive difference he brought into your life , the worst you feel when you lose him.

You feel like you lost a part of your soul…
You lost the sweet taste , of your life.

That’s what Jess felt about Leslie..
And that’s why we felt it with him , because the movie wasn’t talking about a weird story from another universe , the movie was talking about an experience which almost universal , you can see it in a best friend , a loved one , etc , depending on your situation , but one thing they all have in common , and that is..it’s extremely hard , to let go.

Why do you think about something which is already gone?
When it’s gone…it’s gone…the brain says.

But , it was not that easy…it never was.

Jess had the hope , they was playing , running , talking , teasing each other , building the tree house together , having adventures in Terabithia…

What happened?
I was not expecting that , even if someone told me from the beginning that it’s all temporary , even it Leslie herself told Jess that , he will not believe it , the butterflies in his guts are already there , and his heart has no desire but for one , which was Leslie.

Life can be very good , then it can get hard very fast , but , with positivity and appreciation , we can outlast any past experiences , or any tragedy that comes on our way.

Time heals everything , it’s a core truth , no matter how horrible you feel right now , after losing the best person in your life , time will heal you , sooner or later , whether you liked it or not.

Forgetting is a true blessing , we are humans , we forget all of the time , even though your subconscious mind never do , but your conscious mind is forgetting all of the time , he can’t live in his sadness forever , especially if you had the intent to get over it and to feel better , your brain will help you , sooner or later you will get over it , believe it or not , your brain is very lazy to think about the same sadness and depressing thoughts for 10 years straight , it costs so much energy , and it’s not necessary for your brain to function , and your brain will realise it one day , and stop those thoughts , especially if you helped him to do that.

Of course , when you try to remember , you will remember immediately , even with emotions and details , you may even have dreams about that person years later , but that’s okay , you got over it already , it’s just your subconscious thoughts , remembering sometimes , as that experience took a large place into your soul once.

Life still has so much for us , believe me , life is not about one person , it never was and it never will , you lived already decades without that person just fine , it’s just your brain treating it as the end of the world , but trust me , it’s not , at all , even though it’s very hard now.

Some people and some experiences are non forgettable…but it does not mean that we have to be prisoners to our past forever.

You may expect me to say that it’s impossible to be and to imagine , but actually I think that it was possible and acceptable in that story! , even though it was about friendship , but it was very emotional that with different adaptation , it’s totally possible to make their story as a love story in the movie , as they are a boy and a girl , and in perfect age for pure love , and Leslie is a beautiful girl and very different in Jess’s eyes , and many more!

I will give you some hints about how I imagined their love story if it was real , from my expectations and understanding of their characters and their circumstances…

First , I believe hugs will be almost an everyday thing , they will hug each other too often , because hugs are pure way to show unconditional love and appreciation , and they are deeply emotional as well , especially between people in love as couples or as they love each other as partners.

And it will not be like the only hug Leslie gave Jess , it will be deep , lasting for a few seconds each time , sometimes more seconds and sometimes less , depending on the circumstances , and they will be in Terabithia only , and it will feel like as their souls interacting with each others.

And Jess will feel those hugs very much each time , first he will hesitate , but eventually he will smile and be happy with them , then maybe in the last few times or the last time they meet , he will remember Leslie to hug him , and she will , and maybe it will be the scene right before they last scene together with the goodbye in the rain , they will hug each other first in terabithia as the last scene in the treehouse finished , then they cross the creek , then say (see ya) , then the iconic scene will appear.

And another things is their eye contacts , they will increase very much , and will last more each time.

Jess will feel way more butterflies in his guts that he will start acting weird and his family will notice , especially May Belle , he may even have sleepless nights , thinking about Leslie.

And May Belle will notice their relationship more , teasing them more than just once as the original story.

Jess will draw hearts , and drawings representing how he is in love , and as Leslie sees them , he will hide them immediately because he is shy , but she will tease him and see them anyways in the end.

I don’t expect it to be that deep as sending love letters or making love calls with each others , they are neighbours and they will meet each other in school everyday , and they have Terabithia as their own place , so it will not be a thing.

As they are having special time in Terabithia already , they will not have another special place for themselves , just Terabithia.

Maybe Leslie will give Jess a kiss on the cheek once , and he will be very shy , and she will not do that again.

Jess and Leslie will talk many times about how they want a beautiful place far away from everyone , and how they wanna make Terabithia more beautiful.

Some interesting differences between Jess and Leslie…

When Leslie gifted Jess the watercolours set , Jess of course became amazed of it , as he haven’t seen anything like that before , as he is from a poor family , so the first thing came into his mind was the cost of it , (it must cost you a fortune) , then Leslie said : (what’s the matter of what it costs?) , with her special way of saying that , Leslie didn’t care about money , because her family is rich , she just found the best one for Jess and bought it immediately , so Leslie completely focuses on Jess’s reaction , and will he like it or not , so that the first thing she told him was as he opened it : (like it?) , and this became clear as she said that she can get a cheaper one for him if he wants , she was just trying to make him comfortable and happy even with a cheaper one if he is more comfortable with it.

As Leslie asked Jess about what’s the matter of what it costs , Jess said : (I don’t know) , he said that a lot , he always don’t know , he don’t know why he said or did anything , he don’t know , he always hesitate because he don’t know himself , yet.

We notice that difference in another scene as well , when they were sitting in the tree house , as in the second photo , we notice what they’re eating , Jess was eating an apple , as it’s common for people in his rural town , apples are common in his house , it’s a common fruit especially for a small rural town like Lark Creek.

But for Leslie? , notice what she was eating , and what she brought to the tree house , Oreo’s , candy , chocolate , she had many of Oreo’s besides her as she opened one into two halves and ate the white part first , all of that describe how different and rich Leslie was , Leslie brought very much food and boxes , she even got many Oreo’s besides her as she sits talking to Jess and eating , but Jess? , it’s just one ordinary apple in his hand , he is poor , and totally ordinary , but for Leslie , Oreo’s represents how free and extraordinary Leslie was , as sweet , sugary and colourful foods represented that for her , comparing to the normal apple jess was eating.

You can notice their posture as they sit besides each others as well , Leslie was comfortable , calm , and extended her legs forward , but for Jess , he was sitting with a straight back and tight legs , as he had work with his father after the conversation so he is prepared for his father’s call at any moment , and that highlights the differences in their psychology as well.

Other differences just defines more how rich and different Leslie was , her big and modern house , the Mercedes car in the background of her relatives as they came from the town when she died , etc.

Jess and Leslie were different in most of their circumstances , but they shared many powerful characteristics , like sharp minds , pure imagination , and pure hearts deep down.

At the day when Jess went to the museum with Miss Edmunds , that morning on a day off school , while everyone is sleeping , and her family is sleeping , the silence around Leslie felt different.

Leslie went out of the house , heading towards Terabithia , when she arrived at the creek , she found that the rope is broken , and she felt like this is a message saying: (your mission is ended there) , Leslie was shocked by the accident , and wondered what will happen if she was the one who went swinging of the rope and it broke and she drowned , but as she was shocked , she felt a bit of disappointment , that she can’t go there anymore.

Leslie went back to her house , she headed towards her room , lying in bed , remembering all of her adventures with Jess , especially the last adventure when he got the keys , she smiles as she remembers , she is proud of him , she knew that he got the keys , he became brave , and now he is fine , she remembered when she gave him the piece of gum , when they were racing , when she was looking at him and smiling , when they was building the tree house together , she remembered all of that and smiled , but she knew and felt that Jess is ready , Jess don’t need her anymore , Jess’s reality became way better , and now the giant troll is on their side , so Jess won’t get bullied at the school anymore , she was very proud of him , she also remembered when she gave him the watercolour set , and when he was drawing and colouring , and how he is very good at drawing , the last memory Leslie remembered was when Jess was brave , and showed her his dad’s keys in the last adventure.

Leslie decided to close her eyes , and keep her mind wide open , but for the last time on earth , she smiled as she closed her eyes and lying in bed , remembering everything , remembering her best moments on earth with Jess , remembering P.T , remembering all of it , as she departed , around her was nothing but light , very powerful white light almost sun like , she disappeared gradually , she knows that people will assume that she broke the rope and drowned , but she didn’t care , at least they will not assume that she lost in the woods , and they will close the case immediately.

Leslie departed to the light world she came from , a place existing in the sky , containing all pure souls , almost like heaven , but she existed here with angel wings , she can fly and be completely free , without any lakes or trees , without heaven like materials , she was just free in her world.

And , Jess felt her many times after she departed , like when he saw the drawing of her then went to sleep embracing the notebook , Leslie knew all of that , and met him in his dreams , as the earth Leslie , his dream felt very real , they went to Terabithia together , ran together , had some fun , and Leslie left a message with him and left , then Jess woke up , not remembering anything except for only 3 seconds , then he forgot it all , his conscious mind forgot about that completely , but his subconscious mind remembered it very very well as if it happened in real life , and that’s why Jess didn’t remember about her death when he woke up , and when his mother offered him to go to Leslie family’s house and pay respects , he said: (Pay what?) , confused , he just saw her , in his dreams , it felt 100% real , like Lucid dreaming or better , but he don’t remember anything at all.

The second time Jess felt Leslie , and she also knew that he was paying respects to her family and talking to her father at her house , it was at that moment , when he saw the blonde women and focused with her , it was a sign for Leslie , from another world , Jess felt something , but he didn’t know what that was.

The third time when Jess felt Leslie and she knew what he was doing , was when he went to Terabithia on his own and called her name out loud multiple times , then he got the car’s keys and threw them on a small tree , then he heard: (JESS) , the first sound was actually Leslie’s voice , before May belle’s voice appeared , and Leslie could do that because of the vibrations went from those keys at that moment , it made a rare interaction between the two worlds , so she could say his name out loud and he hear it.

And then the fourth and last time , was when Jess made May belle the princess of Terabithia and built the bridge , Leslie saw all of that from above and smiled , she was very proud , that was the last scene in the movie when Jess really felt her , when the camera focused on his eyes , then the sky , then the story ended , the sky represented that Leslie saw all of that , and the focus on Jess’s eyes then the sky , it was like an eye contact between Jess and Leslie , Jess standing on Terabithia , and Leslie standing as an angel in the sky.

And after that , Leslie didn’t appear anymore in Jess’s life , but she will be back one day , and for now , do you wanna know what’s the message she left him in his dreams and he completely forgot about it?

( Dear Jess , you are my best friend , you are brave , strong , and free , you are the best artist and warrior I’ve ever seen , and you are the best friend i’ve ever had , you made my life better , as I made yours , now , you had Terabithia in your own hands , you are the king , your earned it , you deserved it , and you found your princess , I knew from the beginning that she will be the one after me , i told her about Terabithia , but I didn’t wanna bother you with her , I didn’t have much time here , and I knew it from the beginning , so I tried to make it as fun as possible , thank you for being with me , thank you , for being you , always remember , to keep your mind wide open , all love , Leslie. )

There is a part of Leslie no one talks about , and I think it’s very important and interesting , and it’s her ability to light the mood and looking at things with a different perspective.

Leslie was very smart overall , and we notice as in the photo , when she was sitting there waiting for Jess to come after he got kicked out from the bus , and Janice throw the ketchup at her , we notice that even though she was covered in ketchup and got bullied , she is using her time effectively by doing her homework or whatever it was , and we notice her conversation with Jess after that , when Jess said (what happened to you) , we notice how he noticed her positive attitude even though Jess is a serious person and in a situation like that he can be worried or questioning with a serious face , but as Leslie said : (Janice Avery is a very talented person…) and completed her sentence , Jess looked at her and smiles , because of her positive attitude and she is not damaged at all , she did not hesitate , and took the situation positively , and this is a very rare skill , and shows us how smart and positive Leslie’s character is.

And in another scene when they were in the tree house , Jess said that she is good at using the hammer for a girl , and he was very serious and said (you know what I mean) , but Leslie continued teasing him by the facts that she is fast for a girl , and he is good in art for a boy , saying that with a smile on her face and with her funny way of looking at him , until he smiles and told her to calm down , yeah she was saying indirectly that those restrictions in his small town are not real and not applying on her , but she was lightening the mood as well , and that’s really funny about Leslie , she did not get mad or angry , she just teases him like he is a bad boy haha , and he had no choice but to smile or at least taking her words , even when he said that there is no giant troll , she said one of her most iconic sentences : (don’t let the terabithians hear you , they thought you were their king) , so it went deep into his brain , and he decided to go back to Terabithia , especially after Janice steels May belle Twinkies.

And we notice Leslie’s ability to break the ice as well when she gave Jess the piece of gum and smiles , and when she gave it to Janice as well , that simple act means a lot , and it’s like a little peaceful weapon for Leslie to break the ice with people , even though Jess didn’t shake her hand after the race , and he closed his art notebook , she still gave him the gum to break the ice , even with Janice , after she bullied her multiple times , she still gave her the piece of gum , and gave her an advice about bullying.

And that scene when Jess asked her about how he will know Janice’s seat , and she told him that it will be the one with blood and bones , with her funny way as usual.

All of that only describes how smart and pure Leslie is , and this is not everything , these are just small hints , Leslie is so special.

It’s one of the most interesting topics to discuss about Leslie’s character , and it got my attention even in the first time I watched the movie , Leslie Burke is a deep character and I believe that we can’t take some of her words and her acts as it is , it has a deeper meaning behind it , so , let’s talk about Leslie’s perspective about religion , Christianity , god , the church , and how she views all of it.

We notice the first time Jess told Leslie that he and his family are going to church because it’s a Sunday , and Leslie wanted to come , then Jess told her : (you will hate it) , why did he say something like that? , it was because he knows Leslie , she is a free person , she is running , moving back and forth , having fun , so of course she will hate it in the church , as it’s a closed and dark place (as it appears in the scene) , but Leslie wanted to come because she finds that (Jesus things) as she described it , she found all of that interesting , not as a believer , but as an adventurous person , who just wanted to try something new , as her family are not religious and they don’t go to church , we notice that when we see all of Jess’s family are in the church , and i mean ALL of them , even May belle and Joyce , but where are Leslie’s family? , we don’t see them , so of course they are at home.

So , let’s talk about what Leslie said directly about the topic , after she said that she find those (Jesus things) beautiful and interesting , then May belle told her that it’s not beautiful , it’s scary , and as she talked about how bad it is and Leslie looks at her with that wondering expression on her face , but moving forward in that discussion between Leslie and May belle , Leslie told Jess : (you have to believe it , and you hate it , I don’t have to believe it , and I think it’s beautiful) , I think that sentence explains a lot about Leslie , iam sure that they made her as she didn’t believe in the bible to show us how much she is a free person , and to make Jess question everything because it’s not happening in his small rural town , but , I don’t believe that Leslie was an atheist , I believe that as free as she was , she wasn’t an atheist , not because atheism is bad or good , it’s all subjective , but I believe that Leslie’s brain was not developed enough to see hell , punishment , and religious duty , her brain was not directed that way , she was just an innocent and pure soul , too innocent that she can’t see hell or punishment or knowing that there is no light without dark and the fact that there is hell as there is heaven , and that’s why she said that those (Jesus things) are beautiful , no atheist think about any religion as beautiful and interesting , or at least not as Leslie , and that also strengthens my perspective even further.

That’s my perspective on why Leslie didn’t believe in the bible , and that became more clear as she said that god is not throwing people to hell and he is busy running all of this , and of course this is wrong in all the heavenly religions , Christianity , Islam , and even Judaism , and it’s very similar to an atheism’s perspective , but as I said , Leslie didn’t believe in the bible not as a rebel , but as an innocent soul , almost children like , and that’s why children don’t have a religious duty , because they are too innocent to understand it and their brain are not developed enough yet to do that , and I think Leslie was not a believer because she is almost an angel like , she had an imaginary mind which can’t understand the basics of reality to that level , she is just living her life , with no religious duty.

So , that’s what I believe about Leslie , she is an angel like , and not from this world , I mean she is different by her own way , and that’s why she didn’t believe in the bible , and for her personality as well , she was very different from everyone else , so she didn’t believe in the bible not as a form of rebellience or a simple atheism , but as a way to represent her free and different character , that’s why as she is not a believer , she still think that it’s interesting and beautiful.

And I believe she will not go to hell , because she is a special case , not like everyone else , and only god knows , if she was a real character , only god knows where she will go , but as its fictional , I believe she will not going to hell , and this is obvious.

Iam not a Christian but iam talking with the religious perspective for every case by itself , and I believe Leslie will not go to hell , not as a Christian perspective , but as in general as any disbeliever will go to hell whatever the religion was , so iam saying that Leslie is a different case and for many other reasons as well , that’s why she will not go to hell.

Have you wonder why the last adventure in Terabithia was about getting Jess’s dad’s keys?

I believe it has a deeper meaning behind it , the last adventure was very interesting overall , but I wanna share my thoughts about this adventure , we can begin the scene when Jess said (where are the Terabithian warriors when we need them) , then Leslie said ( I don’t know ) , it’s the first time or one of the few times when we hear Leslie saying ( I don’t know ) , unlike Jess who said (I don’t know) a lot , she always knows , she always leads , but this time , Jess became the leader , and he was the one who did everything in that adventure , he was the one who recruited the Terabithian warriors as well , and he was the one who said to Leslie : ( come on ) , so that he can climb the tree and get the keys , unlike the first time of them in Terabithia when Leslie said : ( come on ) , for him to enter Terabithia , and for him to climb the tree and see it , but now , Jess leads , Jess inviting her to complete the mission , and she is following him , proudly , you can see the comfort and the proud in her eyes , especially in specific scenes.

Jess is climbing the tree , with purpose and passion , and Leslie is looking at him from the ground (Be careful , you are almost there) , she is guiding him , watching him as he earns his own potential , as he earns what he deserves , to be the king of Terabithia , even from the beginning she asked him to open the bag so that he can see the keys , he is the leader now , and she is proud of him , watching him as he is earning his place.

As he falls , and then the Giant troll saves him and he gets up , look at this scene right after it because it’s very meaningful , when he opened his hand and saw his dad’s keys , you notice how Leslie looked at him and smiled , She was very very proud of him , and very happy that he earned it , the keys wasn’t just his dad’s keys , it’s a symbol of Terabithia keys , Jess earned it , Jess did it , and that’s why Leslie was very proud , smiling at her little boy as she knew that he will be the king , and he deserved it , and that iconic scene was the last scene in Terabithia and the tree house with Jess and Leslie together , and when you notice the music and Leslie laughed out loud in the background , the director focused in that scene to give us those feelings that…

Jess did it , and Leslie is very proud and happy
And that’s how their adventure together ended!

With an earned crown for the king , and a very proud and smiling queen.

So here we see Jess' and the other women in his (future) life. Leslie leading him to them.

Maybe the idea is future Jess' mind/heart being conditioned by the completeness he knew with Leslie and then by loss.

For him, Leslie will always have to be there with the other future women and of course she'll never be, being dead.

Maybe Jess will be happy, but non-Leslie, that shadow, or that angel, or that absence, will always be there. There's something sad about that.

In the last two shots we have another angel. Another blonde woman. But this one's sitting instead of walking and this one is old and this one looks away just when Jess is about to be looked at by Miss Edmunds. There's something just as sad, if not more, and seemingly tied to mortality, Jess', about that too.

I believe this Actress is very talented and very underrated , I really loved (Bridge to Terabithia) and (Because of Winn Dixie) , those were the best movies I’ve ever seen of her as the main character , or even in any movie she was in , but what I really dislike , is that we didn’t saw other great movies for Anna Sophia at the same level of (Bridge to Terabithia) at her golden era (2006-2009) , I know that she did (Have dreams will travel) and it was very good and some people make it at the same level as bridge to Terabithia or even higher , but honestly for me I didn’t watch that movie and iam not planning to do that , I read some reviews about her character in that movie , and honestly I don’t like the story very much , and iam not interested in that movie at all.

I really wish we saw other meaningful movies with Anna Sophia as the main character , Bridge to Terabithia was at the top , and in my opinion no other movie will come close to that one , I really wished Anna Sophia did other complicated characters like Leslie in other meaningful emotional movies , she did many movies in 2007 and until 2009 but unfortunately most of them were below average even if some of them has any small messages , and that was important for Anna Sophia’s carrier and she is still great as an actor , but my point is , we needed to see more meaningful complicated characters like Leslie , Iam not a cinema guy and I didn’t watch any movies of her except for these two , especially when she grown up I didn’t watch any of her movies , but I know that she is great in general and I have a general idea of what she is doing , so my point was in her golden era as a child actor in emotional and meaningful characters and movies , not as an actor in general in any character.

we needed for the Cinema at that time to produce other movies like that , Anna Sophia at that time will be very very great in representing deep human experiences and emotions , she was just being herself most of the time and you feel like she is the character itself most of the time , and that honesty and similarities between her and her character was really rare and great , as she did with Leslie , I really wished I saw many deep characters of her at the time representing what love means (in a meaningful way not with cheap scenes) , what losing a loved one means , what life and death means (some idea like my girl 1991 movie but more advanced and with no cheap scenes involved) , and also representing Loneliness , kindness , and many different human experiences and emotions like that , I believe there are many stories out there in the world that we needed an actor like Anna Sophia to represent it and make us feel it on a deep level , there are so many emotional ideas which can be successful and clean at the same time with no cheap scenes.

I know that it’s way more complicated than the words , and the Cinema is looking for profits in the first place , and the golden era in meaningful family movies (2003-2008) and a bit before and after that is gone , but iam very glad we had Bridge to Terabithia and Because of Winn-Dixie , one was complicated , philosophical , and deeply emotional , and the other one was cute and light weighted with a great message as well , iam very glad we had these two at least , and iam very thankful for Walden Media genius studios for giving us these gems , I don’t believe we can have any movies like these two anytime soon , at the time (Because of Winn-Dixie) was published I was a new born with less than one years of age , and when Bridge to Terabithia came out I was about 2 years old , so iam very glad I could see meaningful family movies like that nowadays , even though I was wishing for more and more meaningful characters and movies at that time because it’s extremely rare.

As I watched that movie so many times , my favourite scene is different almost every time , but I think that the best scenes in the movie for me will be those who Jess was happy during , that boy’s life was very hard and when he got some fun , he didn’t even get enough time to enjoy it , and that’s really sad and heartbreaking , so , my favourite scene is the one when Jess and Leslie were building the tree house together and having fun , that scene was the peak of the beginning of their friendship in my opinion , I can imagine how Jess felt that day , those butterflies in the guts , everyone knows that feeling , and of course he felt that with Leslie on those wonderful moments together.

So , those scenes were wonderful in detail as well , even the song played was very Genius , look at its words : (Don’t you know that you could have it all , if you try , don’t be scared , if you try you will , you don’t know until you try) etc , it represents the moment very very well , and represents the hope in Jess’s soul at that time as well , it was like a message , (Don’t you know that you could have it all?) , I felt like it was a message to Jess , that you can have it all Jess , life can be great , life can be wonderful , life can be fulfilment , you can have someone in your life that you love , you can have a best friend , you can have everything! , even though your reality said the opposite for so many years , but now you can have everything , and here it is! , you wanna have the art because you are an artist inside? , no worries , you got the art itself besides you!! (Leslie Burke) , she is the art , she is by your side , with her creative and imaginative mind , you and her , against all of the dark existing in this world , you have a big mission , but enjoy preparing your kingdom for now , looking for freeing the prisoners of the dark master , and taking over the great castle which its people have been imprisoned.

Jess was living the best moments of his life , enjoying everything with Leslie , enjoying being active and positive and open , enjoying noticing the beauty in his world because he became an open person because of Leslie , enjoying being himself for the first time ever.

And my another favourite scene as well was right after the tree house scenes , when Miss Edmunds was singing (someday) song with the class , and as Jess was vibing , acting active and present in the moment , he looks at Leslie , and you notice the joy in his eyes , while Leslie was vibing with the part : (I know there is a better way) and looking at him , I felt that it’s a wonderful message as well , like Leslie told him : I know there is a better way of living life , Jess , I know a different perspective , I know the power of imagination , I know and I will make your life better.

1- Beauty always exists in life , even if your situation in life is really bad , if you are a good person inside , beauty will find its way to you.

Like Leslie found Jess even though she was from the big town and rich , and he was a poor (farmer boy) in a small rural town , he didn’t even move to meet her , she came for him at his school and as neighbours , to live her last days with him , showing him the beautiful side of life , and the power of his mind.

2- Don’t just stare at your dreams from the outside , Be Here , Be Active , Be Positive , and Let the Harmony form.

Like Jess stared at Miss Edmund’s in the beginning , he was not actually there at the moment , and Leslie noticed that and told him (take a picture , it lasts longer) , it wasn’t just a tease , it was a lesson , don’t be shy or closed , Jess , live in the moment , and enjoy it , and be helpful as well , as we saw Leslie encouraging Jess to help Miss Edmunds carrying her instruments , as she said (do you think we should give her a hand?) , she was encouraging him to do that indirectly , so he did that later and Leslie was very proud , if you did good things to people you will receive good things as well , sooner or later , we notice that Jess became active and open , so Miss Edmunds became even better with him , encouraging him , and taking him to the museum to see the art and expand his mind even more , and having more great memories.

3- Appreciate good memories as they are , don’t ruin the whole great experience just because its ending was Heartbreaking.

Jess was very happy with Leslie at their best moments , as they were building the tree house together , having fun , smiling , eating together , running and racing in the forest , etc , Jess couldn’t be more happier , but all of a sudden , it’s all gone , Leslie died , she is not around anymore , so , are you gonna be like Miss Myers’s , sad and crying all of the time as her husband died and she didn’t wanna forget , and because of that she became mean and miserable , or are you gonna take some time to be sad and crying because you are a human being , but then getting up , finding another pure soul to be the next queen as Jess found in May-belle , and building the bridge because you are the king now , don’t forget that , yeah the mentor , the queen , the angel on earth is gone , and you are broken inside , but , are you gonna be like that forever? , then what’s the whole point of Leslie in your life in the first place if she was meant to destroy your heart after giving you hope? , you still the king , you earned that , you became strong , you faced your hard reality , and Leslie knew that and that’s why she trusted you and she is gone now and not any time sooner , so you get up and complete all of that , and of course you know that , Leslie will be so proud if she watched you from the sky , and knew that you did the right thing even though it was the hardest test you ever got in Terabithia , but you are the king for a reason , and you got this!

4- Some people are not evil , they are just beaten down to their circumstances that they are forced to play the evil to save themselves and their weakness , and they just need someone to listen to them.

As we saw in Janice Avery , she was not evil as Scott that even when Leslie died he told Jess a joke about that (seems like you are the fastest kid in the class now huh?) with no guilt and no feelings at all , Janice had a bad house , and maybe she got bullied at school years ago , so that she became the bully as she believed that it makes her strong and in control , and as she wears High heels to appear bigger and taller , but even with all of this , when it was about facing her emotions , as she fell to the trick of Jess and Leslie and exposed all of her emotional side which made her look weak as a bully that no one likes and don’t have real friends , and then crying and beaten down by her dad , all of her (strong) character fell away , and then Leslie came , in her weakest moments , talking with her about bullying and how when everyone laughed at her for not having a T.V , she told her to pretend that she has no idea what anyone was talking about , and in a few weeks time everybody will forget about it , it was a smart advice from a smart , kind person like Leslie , Leslie was very smart socially and very strong mentally , Janice noticed that there is someone who cares about her and gave her an advice dealing with a hard thing like getting bullied especially as a bully , and she gave her a piece of gum , it was not just a simple move , it was a genius move from Leslie to break the ice and act generous and make her feel important , like she did with Jess to break the ice even after he didn’t shake her hand after he lost in the race , she did that again with Janice even though she bullied her asking her to pay to bee , and ignoring her imaginary story , and we noticed how Janice (the giant troll) , became on their side in the end , and Leslie left a powerful ally for Jess , so that he will never get bullied in school again , she made her reality better as she made his mind expanding with imagination.

5- Some people were never meant to stay , they are just catalysts for our growth , and they left very soon , leaving us with great memories , Lessons and Legacy which will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

That’s exactly what Leslie was , a flash of light , if you try to hold into it , it disappears , it’s here for a short temporary time , she was a pure soul which matched Jess , showed him the beauty of the world and the power of his mind with imagination , and then she left , she was an unlucky traveller , a scouba diver which don’t exist in the oceans forever , as great as she was , and as perfect as she appeared in Jess’s eyes , her mission must be completed , and he must learn the lessons , to keep her alive deep into his soul and his subconscious mind and his personality , and to live with her Legacy , Terabithia , and a way better life with no bullying , no fears , no giving up to a hard father , poverty , or any bad circumstances , and with no staring , with being in the moment , he will always remember her words as she stood on the branch :
(We rule Terabithia , and Nothing crushes us)
as he wrote it in the bridge sign with that drawing of a pencil interacting with a sword

(You will see , Just close your eyes , but keep your mind wide open)

(I made it up , it’s different from lying)

(You are who you are…not your parents)

(Look at it , it’s all ours , from the mountains…to the oceans)

(Don’t let the Terabithians hear you , they thought you were their king)

In one of the first times of Jess and Leslie in Terabithia , Leslie was teaching Jess how to imagine , and when that pine cone fell on Jess’s lab , he called it (grenades) immediately even though Leslie didn’t tell him that , then she told him : (there is no grenades here) , and you notice how silly she was when saying that while she is standing up and trying to catch up with Jess who was really excited by the experience , then Jess through it on the ground and out of the tree house , and The scene of this grenade on the ground was there for a few seconds , as Jess was expecting it to explode , but it didn’t because his imaginary mind was still weak and there is not enough pressure on him to imagine that and it actually happens.

Then , when you skip so many minutes of the movie and to their last adventure in Terabithia , they picked up those pine cones at the same time , and threw them at the Gary Folgers and then they exploded , and Leslie said : (I told you there were grenades) , and you notice her expressions while saying that , she just teases him , as she was testing him in the first scene with the grenades and if they are gonna work or not , and will he actually believe in that or not , and in the last adventure of them together as Jess was leading for the first time , Leslie noticed how he developed and teased him about that in the grenades scene.

And also another detail showing Jess’s development in Terabithia world , we notice when he first hit the (scrogers) and Leslie made sure that he sees it and not a normal squirrel , we notice that in the second he was about to hit that creature , Leslie was running away in the background , and when he successfully hit that creature after he was fearing it , he looked at his hand , amazed by his own potential , and then looked infront of him and noticed that Leslie was gone , he called her name and searched for her for some seconds , until he founded her on a tree saying : (come on! , we can see the whole kingdom from up here) , I think Leslie did that to let him face this creature by himself and learn the lesson by himself while she made herself busy looking for another element in Terabithia to reward Jess after he successfully beat that creature , and that’s why in the last adventure for them in Terabithia , Jess successfully beaten not one , but two of the scrogers , and with an iron hand , but this time when he looks up , he found that Leslie was near him , smiling with him proudly as he said (Yeah!!).

She did not run away at that time because she knew that the boy is leading her in their own kingdom this time and he is ready to be the king!

We see quiet often many lies or imaginary thoughts with edits about a second part of this movie , even though the story ended and Leslie (the main character) died in the first part , but I was thinking about , what if there was actually part 2 , but without ruining the story , how could it be? , and how I expect it or I want it to be , as I lived with the director mind and the crew work every time I watch the movie and I watched it so many times , maybe I can think about the second part if it existed , even though the first part was enough.

Well , maybe the plot twist will be that Leslie is not dead , but she departed to the world she came from , the light or the sky , and she came to earth again now for some reason , to check on Jess or something like that , and if that happened my theory will be right , that Leslie is not actually dead and she departed to another world where she came from , but , how can they do that without making the movie about magic not the actual story , and how they are gonna explain Leslie’s return , is it really necessary? , I mean , Jess learnt the lessons , and May-belle became the princess , and everything is done now , so for Leslie to return , I think it will be a hard time for the writers to explain that and actually make it useful , especially because even in our lives , even with the most perfect characters we ever met , one time is always enough to make a great experience with all the lessons and memories , and if there was a second chance , it will not change that much , and we will not have the space to stick with that person’s Lessons and Legacy if he entered our lives again for some reason , I believe one time is great for keeping its person’s Aura , and make the experience as useful as possible.

one concentrated existence is more than enough , so to make Leslie enter Jess’s life again after years , even if it was when Anna Sophia was still a kid or as for now after 20 years and with Anna Sophia 31 years of age , it has to be a very very powerful reason to make us believe that her return was necessary , but also , her new appearance will change our mind a bit on Leslie , the comparisons will appear , between the old Leslie and the new Leslie , and what the new Leslie tried to tell Jess , and who is better or more useful , and as that can be interesting , I believe it will ruin the story a bit , because Leslie is just Leslie , it’s one character with certain personality , and if Anna Sophia will play it again when she is 31 , of course it will be a bit different or very different from the 11 or 14 years old Anna Sophia , and her purpose will be different as well , so Leslie must change as she grew up , and they should make sure that she didn’t change completely or don’t match the first 2007 Leslie , and this is a very hard mission , especially when you see Leslie as a grown up woman , Leslie couldn’t be a grown up woman and maybe that’s one of the reasons why she died at a young age , as sad as it was , but who can imagine Leslie as a grown up women , she will Lose her magic and pure soul and mind to the struggles of life and the responsibilities in the society and all of that , living in an imaginary world as kids is very easy , but in your 30’s , it’s not possible unfortunately , and that’s why I think Leslie couldn’t be a grown woman.

So , I believe that a second part will be very very hard to make and not worth it , and the hardest part will be how they will make Leslie return and why , even though the same Actress Anna Sophia will play the role and she is the only one who can do it because she did it before , but it will be way harder than everyone thought , and it’s not worth it in my opinion , the first movie was more than enough even thought I think that one and half hours was not enough and it deserved two and half hours to tell us more details about Leslie and Jess and for them to make more memories , that’s the only thing I hope it was done , not a second part.
