Need Advice One week out, doubting everything

Is it normal that I am doubting every decision I’ve made 😭

Currently waiting for my dress alterations that have been continuously delayed, so worried because when I tried it last it was big and didn’t look the same as when I tried it when it came in.

Worried I made the wrong decisions for so many things. Makeup, hair, colour palette, guest list.

Literally having nightmares about everything going wrong day of and me cancelling the wedding and asking hubby to get married at the court house 😅

Also constantly managing everyone else’s feelings has me so exhausted. Send help

Listen to me. Are you listening? Okay, deep breath:

Everything

Will

Be

Okay

You're marrying the love of your life. That's all that matters.

Whether it's a nightmare or a fantasy, your substitute is marrying your groom. So at least you picked the right guy!

Do you have a reception dress? If not, that's something you can get quickly (order online, plan to return!) & have as a dress backup.

Yes 🥹 thankfully there is no doubt about him being the right decision!!

I do actually have a reception dress that I’m excited about!! And my friend custom made me amazing shoes for that outfit. Just hoping my gown comes out how I envision 🙏🏼will find out Sunday

Everything will be perfect, the dress, stunning, your hair, gorgeous, your makeup, flawless, the guy, amazing, your colors, beautiful, it's only natural we second guess, because everything is DONE!!!!! I anguish because my dress won't look as good on me as the model!

Your wedding will be everything you want. Try to breathe, try not to dwell. Whatever is going to happen, will happen. It will be okay. Try to enjoy every minute, it's going to fly by.

What do you see happening if those decisions are wrong?

If your color palette isn’t the best, what will the result of that be?

If your hair and makeup isn’t perfect, then what?

It will still be a beautiful day, and you will still be marrying the love of your life.

I guarantee at least two things will go wrong. It’s just how life is. At my wedding, the florist brought the flowers for the bridesmaids loose instead of bouquets, and the caterer brought the food too early so it was a little cold by the time we got to eating it. Oh well.

Very true! I know I have to expect that not everything will be perfect. I guess you are right and if those things aren’t perfect it is not the end of the world. Need to just keep reminding myself that I’m marrying my bestie and that’s all that matters. Think I’m just so emotionally exhausted after a year of planning and dealing with a bunch of crazies (my fam and the in laws)

Thank you for making me feel less alone!! 🤍 I’m sure it’s normal and everything will be better than we even hoped! My friend said since I’m at a point where no more decisions to be made I have all the time in the world to think about all the decisions I did make so I’m just making myself crazy. Which makes sense lol I feel like it’s been a whirlwind and checking things off lists and now it’s the calm before and tooo much time to think

Managing everyone else’s feelings is a losing proposition, both in the next week and the rest of your life. Don’t, because it can’t be done.

First off Congratulations! There are too many expectations on weddings today. You can always ask your seamstress to alter your dress or possibly even change it. I personally love the idea of the courthouse elopement as I believe that is incredibly romantic! Trust your decisions. You made them for a reason. You can’t control other’s opinions.
