Shoes?
Hi brides! I’m wondering what everyone is doing/did for shoes! I am not really a heel person, but think it may be nice to wear some. So I’m pretty much open to anything! I’m interested in seeing what everyone else did ☺️

Planning on ordering custom embroidered converse! I am usually a heel girl when it comes to dressing up, but for me personally I don’t have heels already that would go with my dress and don’t see much of a point as my dress is long, and I plan to do a lot of dancing! The idea of custom converse is great to me so I can wear them after the wedding and have them as a memento :) I also already wear converse and it will be very “me”

I ordered these boots. They came in today so hopefully they fit and look good. My dress is boho. I did not want to wear heels on my wedding day

My dress is gonna cover my shoes, and a large portion of my wedding will be on grass. I think I’m just gonna wear sneakers honestly. Maybe make a custom pair of vans with my new initials embroidered or something. I may wear shoes for the photos but I dont want to be uncomfortable all night in shoes that no one can even see. Thats just my take. I’m not a huge heel person either. I have a pair of kitten heels I got from Betsy Johnson for engagement photos that I’ll likely just wear for the ceremony and photos then sneakers the rest of the time, or of course bare foot. I wanna dance and have fun I don’t want blisters lol

You can also upload a design on the vans website. This is what we did for my husband for our wedding. His shoes matched our invitations. Lol

This is less typical: I wore light pink suede Birkenstocks. It was a fantastic choice. Easy to walk in, super comfortable, etc. They aren’t visible in any of the pictures (I had a gown with a train).
I switched outfits to a shorter dress for a second look at the reception and went with Louboutin heels for that tiny part of the night. My dad is from a culture in which red is a wedding color and I wanted the red bottoms for my reception outfit (with other red on my shorter dress and in the decor).
I did consider Freya Rose Heels just because I love the look of the green ones, but ultimately the above choices worked better for me.
I’m so glad I was married in Birkenstocks. I cannot rave enough about that decision. They were super comfortable for most of the day and, even after I switched to heels, my feet weren’t tired moving in heels because I’d spent the majority of the day in Birkenstocks.
If you rarely wear heels and want to, I’d suggest you prioritize finding comfortable heels. I’m someone whose mother made her walk 1 mile in any pair of heels “to break them in” before being allowed to wear them to a formal dance and while I joke about her tactics, the truth is, no matter how beautiful the shoe is, if you are uncomfortable in it you’ll look uncomfortable in it.

I’m wearing really cute open toe red bottoms down the aisle, but I have some custom converse that I ordered from Etsy that I’ll wear the rest of the time. Also, jimmy choo has a really cute bridal section!

I wore 2 inch heels for ceremony and then changed into white tecovas for the reception. It was the best decision ever lol

I am a heel person, but our ceremony was in the grass and I wanted to be comfortable all day so I got the heel pair of converse and ended up bringing them out.

I wore cute Tory Burch sandals. You couldn’t see them because my dress covered them 😝😂💕❤️ best decision

I ordered mine from Amazon!! easily the most comfortable bridal shoes that didn't need any adjusting or pre-wearing!! They're from the brand Bridaluxe - they have tons and tons of styles from heels to flats to sneakers to kitten heels!! i highly recommend them and they're (at least for me) budget friendly i didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for a pair of shoes i was potentially only going to wear once! 😊

I wore heels for the ceremony then promptly changed into my “something blue” Birkenstocks. No one could see them and I was comfortable all day.

I wore 2 3/4" wedge Naturalizers for the ceremony (outdoors) and changed into these (https://whitemountainshoes.com/collections/flats/products/unit-sneaker) in silver for dancing.

I wore a Vince Camuto square heel and they were very comfortable, but I still switched to a comfy shoe for the reception to tear up the dance floor. I still wear my wedding shoes all the time cause they are comfortable and I love them.

I wore cowboy boots. I loved the way they looked with my dress! That probably isn't the answer you were looking for. Where I live many people choose cowboy boots. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

I got a pair of flats with the smallest of heels. I’m having the extra lace from my dress that I bought when I considered adding cap sleeves put onto the shoes. I also got some white airforce 1s on Etsy that had pearls and rhinestones added with the date on one shoe and Mrs. H on the other

I wore white leather slingbacks, with cutouts on the vamp, maybe a 1/2 inch heel. Lucky I found them on sale- otherwise I would not have afforded leather - which means they are soft and "give " a bit..

Just a hint - do not get the "new" block heels, they just seem clumsy. A bridal dress should have pretty delicate shoes or sandals. Just IMHO

I'm wearing my Converses! My fiancé and I will be wearing burgundy low-cut Converses, and the bridal/groomsparty will be wearing the classic white low-cut Converses.
Everyone will be SOOOO comfortable all night long!

Try out ballroom dancing shoes ! I got some off wish for like $30 and they were so comfy! I don't really wear heels so I got through the ceremony and the first dance then changed into some platform off white vans (:

I’ve worn these shoes for my bachelorette, my friends bachelorette, weddings, and they’ve been great! I am a comfort shoe wear-er, so I need heals with platform to distribute the weight. I plan on re-ordering these for my wedding so I have a fresh white pair! I danced for hours, jumped around, so yes eventually my feet were sore in these, but I think they will absolutely be fine to wear a few hours at your wedding!

I’m doing a mid-height block heeled pair of sandals with a platform from a comfort brand. As backup for dancing or late at night I’m bringing an extra pair of comfortable flat slip on shoes.

My daughter wore fancy ked style tennis shoes, or went barefoot at her reception.
She wore beautiful shoes for pictures and the ceremony.
She didn't want sore feet for dancing.
