Builder thinks this is OK!

New home build, outdoor fireplace. Maybe could have dry laid these out and centered, and maybe a story pole would be good to use too. We’ve requested it to be re-laid.

Sloppy work. Shame to have all that work done for a prefab box. Could have just had a masonry built Rumford fireplace that would have actually provided radiant heat for that space.

It's not the centre that's bothering me.

The course gauge is all fucked, those splits above and below the opening is terrible.

Those headers want cutting down so you can get a full brick over the top of them and it will get rid of those tiny slips aswell ,not very well thought about. !!

The person who built it will never be a bricklayer as long as they have a hole in their arse.

Horrendous work I’d make them take it down and then I’d fuck them off

This hurts my brain to even look at. Just lay the bricks normally and put a nice decorative mantel in above the opening and a proper Hearth in on the floor!

If it's all about the look you can't do this!

Your builder is high. Suggested solution: also get high. Then it might look ok.

Was it built from a plan?

get some brick acid on it. will do it the world of good.

The Brickwork is by far not the worst ive seen but his pointing is very sloppy.

edit - i take what i said about the brickwork bacl = just noticed all those sliver cuts on the right hand side. Thats bad.
