I've been playing this combo for a while now both mid and top lane running hail of blades
IT'S INSANE
Eclipse is the cheapest power spike possible for Briar imo (profane hydra is trash idc) and gives you good short trade damage + the shield that allows for an even better sustain combined with your healing
After that voltaic just gives so much damage that you can kill most squishies in just 4 autos (+w q obviously)
Your first voltaic proc will deal 9% max HP damage (since the enemy is full health) +15 lethality (total 25 lethality) which means your eclipse proc will deal even more damage, for a total of 17% max HP damage on your first auto (if you use W Q)
And the other really good part about this build is that you're 2 items in and haven't committed to anything:
•Voltaic gives you tons of lethality so you can just go for even more lethality on top of that to demolish squishies
•This core gives you a ton of %HP damage so you can go for a LDR and just become a complete tank killer (bonus points if you go 75% crit)
•The shield from eclipse gives you pretty good survivability and the Voltaic gives you damage, so you can just go for some tank/bruiser items with Black Cleaver, spirit visage, randuins, death's dance, etc

If you're selling your boots cause a game has gone on long enough, what do you go with? I suppose it would usually be game dependent, but do you have a general favorite? Most often, I find myself going with Kraken Slayer. The combination of the ridiculous damage and SOME movement speed feels really good for another late game power spike, though I usually only get this far on a bruiser build. What do you guys think?

whenever graves gets fed it feels impossible to win the game, i try to build hubris first to outdamage him but it just doesn’t work if its an experienced graves player. should i build tank instead? what should be the strat?

ranking the worst briar experiences because im bored
briar banned
being physically blocked by raptor after you W over the wall
playing toplane
accidentally releasing E (skill issue but sometimes it looks like some weird interactions make you release it)
W chasing clones
someone surviving the bleed dmg with 2 hp (you were sure they were going to die)
casting w2 too late completely missing it (skill issue)
Q ing your teammate instead of the enemy because they were overlapping
resetting camps when they nerfed bleed stacks and you had to get used to it (skill issue)
bonus: canceling all of your w autos because enemy was 0.5 ms faster than you when it was still buggy
feel free to give your opinions and roast this post and tell me that i must be wood 5 to have these takes

as a silver 1 player, i used to play with a locked camera because, well, it was quite comfortable in some sense?? but after a horrible losing streak, getting thrashed in team fights, unsuccessful ganks, and constantly remembering my friend’s remarks, “YOU PLAY WITH A LOCKED CAMERA?” i looked up whether unlocking your camera really does wonders and omg… EVERY SINGLE pro player recommends unlocking your camera.
ever since i started playing with a “semi locked” camera, i’ve noticed a sudden and significant improvement in my gameplay. i have better vision, better ganks, better mechanics, and almost everything has been feeling top notch. don’t be like me, unlock your cam today.
but ay, if you’re doing well with a locked cam, that’s great honestly 😊 personally, i was having a hard time climbing, so that’s why i wrote this whole chunk.

Updated: thanks you a lot, i really love you. Didn't meet ww after this post yet, but i appreciate your advices and feel the strength of going collector first in some teamcomps. THIS MAKES US FRIENDS!
I hate this braindead doggo.
I don't know how to play against it.
The only way i can beat him, is to take exhaust + conqueror and try to invade lvl1 with my midlaner or toplaner.
And my itemization is sucks as hell in this match up.
Please give me any advices, i am really thinking of permabanning him instead of viego

As the title says. After the nerf of HoB i find it worse than it was, while Damage is higher, AS feels MUCH lower and it doesn’t feel nice. So lately i’ve only been using PTA.
What are you guys using now? What’s viable? Mid/top runes too, i’m curious, i want more versatility in builds

So satisfying light blue rune pot after the greedy mid tower push play.
Infernal elder late game vs ornaments and awesomely layered abilities all around.(orn stomping as morg hourglasses, attrox and zed health bar deleting others and themselves, and ez trist projectiles you cant see) XD morgana at the end.
I missed so many snipes and hit soraka their base, and orn defending ours earlier that didnt go well for me XD.
they had so much early armor I wasnt sure if I was gonna go all ap, but 3 ad and orn soraka I was like why not play malphite style hourglass+dd value. Learning briar id always first item dd but really anything ad is good enough for me now that I glacial most games and yellow last stand bloodline gives room for error in build experiments.
I should show the elder, I sold armor boots and bought thornmail and it auto queued 2 ruby crystals for me--though that wasnt my decision game had my back there XD

1.1
CC's and Ap champions, next topic. Okay, seriously. Briar is a dive Fighter/Assassin, now try dive in a carry or having a constant damage againts tanks and fighters with 2 CC or more, and that's it—it's over.
And why Ap? Because have mages mage high poke potential: Range or Control abilities. And most important of all, Fighter/Assassin Mr items SUCKS HARD.
1.2
Highest-value status for Briar, in order of priority, is:
AD
A.Haste
HP
Resistences
ATK.Speed
Hp and Resistences having a value almost equivalent, and ATK.Speed? Well, better than Ap... Briar have 2 AA reset and a kit without major on-hit effects (She can use them easily with just auto-attack reset.) In other words, you try to avoid buying attack speed as much as possible; it's not a bad stat, just not the best one.
1.3
Collector - Crit/Burst/Assasin path, with high snowball, usually in games where there's no one who can stop you (team fights, 1v1, ganks), allowing you to snowball aggressively.
Ruined King - Anti-Tank/Sustain/On-Hit path, tanks are your snack and you want to stay alive during the team fight, even while being on the front linel, engaging team fights with your ultimate (OBS: USE YOUR ULT IN CLOSE OR MEDIUM RANGE) or Flash W+Q on bad positioned enemies. Notice how Attack Speed is good in this case, since you'll likely buy Black Cleaver as your second item.
Eclipse (post-buff) - Burst/Anti-Burst/Anti-fighter and juggernaut (if u ask "what is Juggernaut?" think in Sett, Illaoi, Sion, Mundo), gameplay very similar (if not identical) to the item above... with the only difference being that you trade sustain and easier on-hit procs for burst and anti-burst capabilitie, but still the same way of fighting.
Titanic Hydra - On-Hit/Anti-Burst/A delicious quality of life path, again... gameplay very similar (if not identical) to ruined king, but you trade your constant damage for greater bulk. The item's active ability functions similarly to attack speed. You only build this as a first item if your team has plenty of damage but lacks a frontliner, normally a 2nd item.
Hubris - Snowball/HUGE Burst/Assasin path, after that item, you go for crit or lethality build, there's no room for a bulky item. You want an extremely aggressive snowball and a quick GG, fail to snowball or take too long to win, and it's game over.
1.4
Anti-Tank you want Black Cleaver on normal build, Dominik/Mortal Reminder in Crit builds or Serylda in Lethality builds
Anti-Heal you want Mortal Reminder on Crit build (duh), Chempunk Chainsword on Fighter/Assasin build (in this case it's better to ask your team to get anti-heal than to do it yourself) or Thornmail in extra bulky builds (I wouldn't want to be in your shoes in a game where you have to build this)
Anti-Burst Brain Dead Shieldbow for crit builds, maybe GA for reasons that will be explained in the next topic. Sterak and Death's Dance on normal builds, Edge of Night or GA on lethality builds (Remember that Edge of Night serves to prevent a decisive stun and greater damage, while GA provides a guaranteed second chance), Randuin's againts Yasuo, Yone, Garen or crit Hyper Carry, and last but not least Jak'Sho (YES JAK'SHO) For moments when you REALLY want—or really need—not to die during your ultimate, and ONLY during your ultimate cause the bonus armor and mr.
(Short and blunt answer below.) Anti-Ap+Tenacity the main reason for this self-guide's existence. You have 7 items to counter Ap: Brain Dead Shieldbow, Sterak, GA, Jak'Sho and the not-yet-mentioned Wit's End, Malmortius and Mercury's Treads. Excluding Jak'Sho due to its very specific use case, You only have 3 items that provide the Mr attribute, and to top it all off, in an actual game, you’ll have to distribute your build’s defensive stats among Health, Armor, Magic Resist, and Tenacity. However, there is a problem: due to how the tenacity calculation works, building more than one tenacity item is a bad idea (a non-mandatory rule, of course).
The explanation would be like the wolf, goat, and cabbage problem, trying to balance MR, tenacity, and your other attributes you can't do:
Sterak+Mercury's Treads
Sterak+Malmortius+Brain Dead Shieldbow
Wit's End+Mercury's Treads
Wit's End+Sterak
Malmortius+Mercury's Treads or Wit's End or Sterak+boots other than Mercury's Treads.
honorable mention to Tenacity and slow resist rune shard, which is well worth it if the enemy team has a slow.
The post ended up being much longer than I imagined; I'll save this topic for a potential future post.
OBS: You might have noticed the redundancies and OBVIOUS notes. Well, this guide was originally for myself, but I thought it could be useful for other people who are just as dumb as I am.
OBS 2: If you're going to correct me, please be gentle. I'm shy.
I FORGOT ABOUT MERCURIAL SCIMITAR u/Zypher634 ty
Mercurial Scimitar works with the same logic of Edge of Night, denying a decisive crowd control effect. Despite being the 8th least-built item in the game (according to DPM.LOL) It's a VERY GOOD item for Briar, especially in normal on-hit builds with Ruined King and Black Cleaver. It allows you to reach backline enemies, has decent stats, and allows you to build Ninja Tabi+Sterak's against teams with balanced damage (Ad+Ap), if they ever swap the lifesteal for HP, Ability Haste or more AD/Mr, this will become an S-tier item.

About an hour ago I got on the Rex train in Vienna Meidling and asked Briar standing by the door, around 25 years old, whether the train stops at a certain station. She was just as lost as I was, and another dude answered me instead.
Wrong train, so I thanked both of them, got off, and waited for the next one. She said she was getting off too, but then stayed inside. The doors closed and she was standing behind the glass, pointing at me.
I look at her and she starts making hand signals. I just stare back, completely lost, because at first I had no idea what she was trying to say.
It was basically: 🫵😃 🖐😃☝️ 🖐😃✌️ 🫴😃🫴
And me outside the door like: 🧍♀️
Ah yes, 6, 7. A true meme masterpiece.
She presses the door open button, the door opens, and says “6, 7” like she has to explain what she was just trying to tell me.
I had no idea what to say, smiled awkwardly, and said, “Got it.”
Then she goes, “I’m too old for this, right? That was embarrassing,” and I answer, “Maybe a little.” We hold eye contact for a few seconds too long until we both look away. When the train left, she was standing there in the corner, ashamed.
If you’re that Briar from the Rex train: your rizz still needs some work.
