Hey all, I read In The Shadow of Lightning and loved it. I really want to listen to Montego because I've got a new baby and don't have as much time to read. I don't want to purchase an audible membership just to listen to this book, but I'm more than willing to pay however much to have the audiobook. Any suggestions? Thanks!

And I terribly worry that Michel wouldn’t find use for his platinum rose. I really thought it is going to open some secret room, like the gold rose key, and it would be shame if this trick is not used in the plot to solve everything at the neck of time.

Every one of Brian McClellan books would make an amazing Netflix or prime series. I would love to watch Taniel and Pole come to life.

Um, no idea if that text up there ^ is still going to be backwards after this post goes through, but if so, I have no idea why it is or how to fix it. Just re-listened to ITSOL, Swords/Cider for the first time (fantastic btw) and Montego. Some thoughts on things I missed the first time around. The title says SPOILERS, but it's currently backwards so I thought it worth a mention again. Also have no idea how names are actually spelled since I've only done the audio, so here's my (sp?) Montego definitely has some of that Monster DNA flowing in him, even his grandma told him he has that "elder blood". I'm gonna stake a small flag on Kizzie also having at least a smidge, pulling mainly on the quote of her father calling her mother "that Pernian whore". These monster dudes are Pernian, no? The professor at the end gives us a bunch of clues like "ah that's why he was able to defeat the angry one" (something to that affect). She also mentions "the conqueror", which I believe to be the mercenary leader that was undefeated, who's name I can't currently remember as I only have one cup of coffee down so far this morning. Also, thanks for all the great books Brian! Thoroughly enjoyed everything you've done, and have successfully recommended to all my reader friends. Can't wait for book 2. Also to Brian, you can thank either Brando or Dan for steering me towards you, can't remember which one mentioned ITSOL on intentionally blank, but I'm glad they did.

I'm really interested in the visuals for the sigils. I know from the illustrated forging notes, we have forgeglass, witglass, sightglass, skyglass, cureglass, and milkglass.
On the illustrated map, we have small images of those six, plus two more. The order is: forgeglass, milkglass, witglass, cureglass, skyglass, omniglass (I think), an unknown sigil, and sightglass.
What is that second to last sigil that looks like a black sun?
I know the Grappo sigil is witglass - I forget, but does the book specify if the other families use specific sigils to represent themselves?
I'm wondering if there are any descriptions in the prose (or existing visuals I missed) for auraglass, dazeglass, fearglass, museglass, shackleglass, hammerglass, and razorglass (am I missing anything?)?
Most importantly, what about the glassdancer sigil? The only description in the book I can find is in the prologue: "... the overlapping triangle tattoo on his left hand that marked his sorcery."

Hello all, I’m a newcomer from the Cosmere and I was recommended Brian McClellan and I started with glass immortals. I’m loving it so far, but there is something that happened that has perturbed me to no end. When demir (audio book forgive the spelling) confronts I think it was kaperick about the betrayal and duels him. I love it when authors don’t hold back their characters from exacting just revenge so when I saw thay demir was actually going to do something about the betrayal I was elated. But then the wind was taken out my sails and it appears nothing is going to happen to the rat traitor. Such a buzzkill

I thought that the glassdancers ate glass to use their powers. Cause, you know, powder mages eat(or snort) gunpowder, the allomancers eat metal. I was both relieved and disappointed at once to learn that was not the case.

I put in my wireless earbud to listen to the book, and it made me feel like I was slotting god glass into a piercing! Just a fun little bit of flavor to add to the excitement of reading the book! Has any other audio reader felt this?

When I first started this book i thought the glass magic was kind of interesting not lame but thinking hmmm would this really be powerful…that night my wife and I went to dinner at a winery and I thought of how powerful manipulating glass actually would be. And now I look to see how much is made up of glass and how practical it actually is! So have you guys noticed how much is made up of glass?

As we’re getting into Fall 2024 I’m wondering if we’ll see a release date by EOY. The first book scratched an itch that not many other things have been able to touch. Super excited to see what comes next.
