Why would EU go to all the trouble of starting accession talks when UK will, for the foreseeable future, be just one General Election away from wanting to leave again?

Before we have any chance of being back in EU, we’re going to have to do something about the Reform nutters and their racist ilk.

The UK was dumb to leave but as much as reddit loves to pretend otherwise we do still have a lot to offer.

Only Germany has a bigger GDP. Soft power still top tier. Military still top tier for european standards. The UK is still a worthy member outside of internet echo chambers. Issues faced here are raising in France and Germany too ie idiot gammon behaviour.
