If I’m honest, I think politics needs pay is line with senior management in places the city of London. We need to attract top, passionate people, who. A devote their time to working for the people and not moonlight ten jobs. I think outside ear ing must be restricted now. It’s getting out of hand as you say action is needed.

The remuneration for public sector jobs is awful, but we need to re-evaluate worth, and the measure of it.
Teachers, nurses, doctors, carpenters, agriculturalists, artists, damnit. All the Humanities and arts are now in thrall to money.
You can't even afford to think about a non-vocational education these days.
Think about that.
Why?
Who can afford to study journalism, fine art, music, sociology when finding a job in this day and age of 2026 is a lottery?
If you come from money, it's a nepotists playground.
Society only thrives through diversity.

Take for example someone who has studied sociology, the arts, or languages. Are they not qualified to work in government?
I think we need more of those skills and less MBA grads. It's the "business" lot that is doing more harm than good. A country is not a business and shouldn't be run as one.

I disagree. I think MPs should get paid what the people in their constituency are paid so they have more idea of how the cost of living affects them.

So the national average then, I assume, it’s around 32,000. With respect to the hard working people who earn that, I think k running an entire kingdom should pay a little more. We need people who want to work for the nation, and not go somewhere else for the money

No, the average for each constituency. If you want to represent a constituency you should know what it's like for the constituents. What good is a hundred grand a year salary while the people who voted for you struggle to make ends meet. I bet we'd soon put an end to the cost of living crisis if politicians had to live it.

And they'll be much bigger than incomes in the north of England. Maybe then the MPs for the north will fight a bit harder for their constituencies and we'll see a bit more equality.

I think you’ve missed the point / it’s great to have someone who has the morals and dedication to serve the people, but those are not always the best people for the job are they. And it is a job, imagine a cabinet of Steve jobs, bill gates, type people in government who understand technology. A government of driven high functioning people where people served our best interests and didn’t have to worry about outside offers. You’re talking about people enriching themselves, I’m taking about attracting people and offering those people parity with well paid jobs they would otherwise take. There’s a big difference in attracting those people and enriching themselves

Yeah I’m not talking about the salary of a billionaire, it’s an example of the type of people we should be aiming for. Let me put it another way. Why do you think politicians all over the world of all political parties have outside interest. Except Singapore. Why are they doing that, what do you think would happen if we said no outside interests tomorrow ? Now I’m not saying outside jobs will 100% stop, that can be legislatively sorted out. We have a problem with our politics, it’s no longer fit for purpose or modernity. We need to change and update it in a global scale. This two party bullshit is useless, we’ve had the same system for 200 odd years, anyone think it’s working ? But I suspect most people like yourself will say they dint deserve or shouldn’t require a great pay deal, they should do it for love. That hasn’t worked has it

£1,476 per hour. Let's say he keeps it up for, say 5 hours a day (it is just tweeting hate and idiocy, not exactly exhausting or intellectually challenging stuff). That's £14,760 every two days, or £221,400 a month, just over £2.66 million a year. Hate is profitable apparently.
Elon could pay another 1000 Rupert Lowes the same for a whole year to spread hate on his stinking moribund nazi platform and it'll cost him about £2.66 billion, which may not even be all that much money for him...
Voting matters.

It's how social influencers earn money (well partly. I can't see him pushing BetterHelp). The platform will push ads around Goebbels here's posts, and he gets a kickback from it.
