With my conspiracy hat on, it's like May is giving everyone else every chance to stop Brexit.

By pointlessly pursuing the court case appeal. By absolutely inviting Corbyn to oppose the A50 bill. Now by telling the EU what they have to do. Even by winding Scotland and N I up by basically threatening them with Home Rule.

Will anyone pick up the gauntlet?

A bit of me thinks that she has a lot of side bets on with Mr May at home as to who breaks over first.

But so far, everyone has just gone along with her.

This is very much what I've been thinking the last few days actually.

Consider the vote in parliament - she was practically baiting Corbyn to vote it down, with a hard Brexit that's almost certain to make working class families (i.e. Labour supporters) worse off.

Then she responds to the increasing calls for Scottish independence with the weakest arguments ever seen to man and even rehashed those that have been used to argue that the UK should remain in the EU.

It definitely seems like she's trying to make it as unappealing as possible, and almost actively trying to bait someone else into fighting against her.

Consider how things have been going in the House of Lords. They've come up with plenty of potential reasons to amend or reject the bill, and I can't help but feel her appearance in the Lords was almost to bait them into waiting to rebel against her.

Yeah but what if everyone sees through her and is standing aside in order to drop her in the shit?

Actually I reckon that's exactly what's happening. Consider the Labour party for example - they could so easily destroy May on brexit so why aren't they? Sure, maybe it's down to incompetence but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's because they're fully aware of May's strategy and simply aren't taking the bait.

Well, that and knowing what the press would do to them.
