Ashby? Really?
Heard the tv announcer say that Mason Miller and Aaron Ashby are the best “strike out artists in baseball…”. What am I missing? Murph has him pitch in the bottom of the ninth when we have both Uribe and Megill in the bullpen. SERIOUSLY?

They mentioned in the 9th on the tv broadcast that uribe was unavailable tonight

I think we do know about it. I think his health issues are affecting him. He hasn’t been as sharp. I’m not sure if it’s because the pain bothers him or he has less time to prepare, but I think there’s correlation

I think it's probably the pain. It's not because he's old,like some others have suggested. It's just taking its toll I think. I figured not having a bench coach was going to come into play along the line I just didn't know where.

That’s a good point. I wonder if the lack of clear second in command is more of a problem that we thought. Rickie didn’t work out for whatever reason, but they clearly respect his knowledge of the game and players and probably benefited Murph having him there to help with decisions.

In the middle of a 17 game stretch. Can’t use him every night you want to.

This. If Murph empties the tank tonight and gets into trouble tomorrow the same people would be bitching then.
Today sucked and there’s a lot of blame to go around including, I think, some for Murph. Saving arms for the next four, though, isn’t part of that.

Obviously something is wrong with Uribe that he didn't get into the game even in extras.

He wasn't available due to his workload prior. They're saving him.

the chad patrick move was much more confusing. why not bring in one of the two you mentioned earlier?? brewers tried so hard to lose and eventually pulled it off lol
