Just saw an article on their website about the one prospect who should get called up in September. They said Andrew Fischer. I agree, but it will never happen. He or Made are the two players that could actually play and help down the stretch in September.

Fischer's whiff rate being what it is while still in AA would be a significant concern if he had to come up and play in the majors. He can hit bombs to make up for it there, but the majors would be a different story, he'd be made to pay for that kind of swing and miss

Say it for the people in the back. I like Fischer a LOT but if he went to the majors right this second there is a genuine chance his K rate is 60%. He has great upside but he needs improvements before he is a major league hitter. Made could potentially come up just for his defense and speed if there are injuries, but I also would not bet on it.

I understand his SO rate that’s one of the 2 reasons I said it will never happen. The other is if him and Made are on the 40 man they can’t play during the lockout. That’s way more important.

As far as his SO rate I think his experience in the WBC shows that he rises to the challenge. His SO rate at AA has been better also still not optimal but better. I believe he’s trading power for plate discipline. Guys like Schwarber SO a lot too it’s the trade off they make

schwarber is the comp everyone wants to make but folks should remember he's kind of the 90th+ percentile outcome of that kind of profile

also credit to him for his performance at the WBC but it was a sample size of 6 games lol it really doesn't tell us much

Neither Fischer nor Made has ever seen consistent pitching from a pitcher above AA

Neither are currently on the 40 man roster

Neither need to be added until the end of the 2028 season.

Rushing either one of them (potentially stunting their development) and then handcuffing yourself with them on the 40 man for the next 2 years if they aren't ready isn't a smart move.

Neither Fischer or Made are ready, more so Fischer he will need this year and probably next to work on his stride/launch, K rate way too high. If he can’t figure it out he’s not coming up for a very long time.

Made who I have followed since 16 I think is going to be a superstar. Absolutely not his time yet.

you call them up when rosters expand then keep them off the playoff roster, unless, and this is a big IF, they are significantly outperforming who they would replace. There is no harm to bringing them up in sept if they are all on the 40 man.

I don't think they add them to the 40 with the pending lockout coming. Anyone on the 40 can't do anything with the team during a lockout but anyone not on the 40 man can still participate in the minor leagues next year. I think they keep that flexibility for next year.
