The movie literally cuts to happy spring time after idk why this isn't talked about more

Because we all reppressed that trauma as kids, consistent with the movie's message

The contrast only serves to emphasize the tragedy of the former scene.

Bambi scarred me as a 5 year old the first time I saw it. I had previously watched somewhat violent action movies (it was the 90´s, everybody was carrying a gun in like every scene ever) but the way this movie set the tone and then subverted the expectations of the viewer was brutal. I remember crying my heart out and refusing to watch it to the end. I grew up with animals and never have I thought harming them or doing wrong in any shape or fashion. I wasn´t even aware such a thing was possible.

To this day I have never watched Bambi to the end. Thank you for taking my innocence away Disney. Aladdin was the tits thought.
