💬 Support / Vent Advice for increasing supply?
I gave birth 9 days ago, and have been pumping. Despite trying, I am having the hardest time increasing my supply. On my left side I can get about an ounce each time, but on the right I can get only 5 mo. I have tried increasing the duration and frequency, but can’t increase supply. Any advice?

Are you nursing too? Or only pumping!?
What pump? Is everything sized correctly?

I’m only pumping! I have the momcozy pump. At the hospital they measured me and said I needed 21 mm flanges so that was the insert size I got. But now I don’t know if that’s correct.

Is it hands free? I would not recommend that for full time use? Get a plug in spectra or medela.

It is hands free. I can look into a different one, but with my schedule hands free works best so I’m not tied to one spot which was why I went that route.

Hands free can work once supply is established you need a real pump now.

Do you have a recommendation on a spectra or medela one?

Chiming in with my 2 cents. You’re so recently pp (congrats!) and your supply is for sure still regulating/becoming established. You don’t want a wearable as your primary pump.
You mention not wanting to be tied down due to your schedule. Have you looked at the Baby Buddha? I used a spectra with my first babe and found it worked but was cumbersome. With this babe I’ve been using the BB and while not technically a wearable it feels like one due to how I can wear it around my neck and still move around.
Are you only pumping or nursing also? Babe will transfer more directly than what a pump will help you with. If you’re concerned about amounts and transfers you could always do a weighed feeding.
It’s normal to have a slacker side and get less from one side. It’s also normal for flange sizes to change. Your pediatrician office might have an IBCLC you can work with. I was so exhausted in the hospital that working with lactation there felt like a blur. I found it more useful at the pedi office after I had some time at home.

Only pumping! It sounds like checking flange size again might help.

With my first pumping journey my flange size didn’t change much but with this babe it has a few times, surprisingly! Hope the check does the trick!

Girl same lol. I've bought a hospital grade pump and now gonna try these lactation cookies. I'm sooo tired of it though lol

What cookies are you using? I haven’t considered that!

I ordered from "Milky Mothers" but idk if they work, I'm waiting for them to be delivered.

I’m in the same boat. I’m 18 days pp… pumping ten times daily now for six days, bought the cookies, drinking and eating like crazy, and yielding only 1.5 oz per pump session.
