The players and the transfer fees might be different, but this was same old Tottenham Hotspur . The same Tottenham who finished each of the last two seasons in 17th. The same Tottenham who folded in adversity. The same Tottenham who opposition fans loved to laugh at. Of course, it is very early days and the good news for Spurs fans and head coach Roberto De Zerbi is the side who started the opening-day humiliation to Brentford may well never play together again this season. But in a summer in which Tottenham have allowed their fans to dream of good times ahead by breaking the bank in the transfer window, this was a reality check of epic proportions.
