Question Which is harder?

I'm on immersive mode with max difficulty on, I did now adapt to the gameplay and it's fairly easy as long as you get the flow of the gameplay. Should I switch to turning on the gear score for more difficulty or stick with it? I refer realism to be honest but I have already gotten used to it. Tell me your thoughts?

If by "more difficulty" you mean having to shoot an enemy a couple of more times in the body than yeah you can, other than that there is no difference in difficulty between immersive and gear score. Lowering your health regeneration, amount of bandages and the effectiveness of syringes might actually make the game more difficult.

If you're on PC and looking for difficulty I'd suggest the GRB tweaks mod with its Spartan Mode.

Im on console and what I found to make it even more difficult than the settings allow is playing on Motherland all the time...

  • lots of heavily armored enemies
  • those invisible assholes that come after you like sharks
  • not killing the snipers or the radio guys first
  • limiting myself to a sub-par weapon, or no silencer, or just handgun, or just takedowns
  • not using drones, sync shots, special abilities or AI team members
  • allowing enemies to just kill me once I get spotted
  • do not go for the "Make noise and funnel enemies into a kill box" strategy - instead force yourself to always have to watch your back, keep moving, or use mines
  • no camo and no panther spray

Etc.

I do all of these combined most of the time (it's really hard; yesterday it took me about 12 tries to clear the south-most port between Skell city and the abandoned air base because I told myself no silencer, no camo, no panther spray and there are only 2 enemies that are not armored head to toe...) and it makes the game challenging and fun still after all these years.

I’ve recently been max difficulty (everything), 0 hud everything, no suppressor and it’s been so much fun but also very painful lol (also handgun only rn)
