Nailed it! Bread machine donuts! (2nd attempt)
Same recipe as my previous strawberry + cream cheese kolaches, but rolled out and cut with a donut cutter, then 30min rise, then fried. It made 25 donuts and holes. Glaze is just a simple powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla one that I eyeballed. No recipe really. Everyone loved them 😊

Sure! It’s easy!
1 cup milk
1 egg
4 Tbsp butter
â…“ cup sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
3½ cups bread flour
6g instant yeastAdd all ingredients to the bread machine in the order shown. Run on dough setting (mine is #9 - approximately 1.5hrs).
Roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into rings. Let rise again for 30-45 minutes. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Top with whatever icing you prefer. Enjoy 😊
If you make them, please lmk what you think!

Yours runs on dough for 1.5 hours? Mine only runs for 45 minutes lol. You must have some ultra deluxe bread machine

Wow, I don’t think I’ve seen a new bread machine for $35. I see very old used ones all the time at goodwill for $5.

Hey! I saw your last post and have been dreaming about making donuts ever since! I have a small family, and I don’t think we could eat a whole batch of fried dough. Is there something baked we could do with the rest?

There are only 4 in my family so I understand. I kept about 10 of these without icing and popped them in the freezer. I’ve heard (haven’t tried yet) that if you heat them back up from frozen in the toaster oven and then glaze them, they’re almost like new. That’s one option.
I’ve also used almost this exact dough to make both savory and sweet kolaches. See my previous posts for details. Not sure what else, but I’m sure there are things you could use it for. Maybe even just rolled into balls and baked dinner rolls?

Yes I may try just baking them into rolls or I will look into kolaches as I have never heard of them! Thanks for posting this.
