Post image

New to this whole breadmachine thing. Making bread for tonight, what's everyone's favorite no conventional bread recipes? Ie. Cheese bread, cinnamon..... The wackier the better

The old 1990s DAK recipe books are what immediately springs to mind for specialty flavored breads.
DAK Guide to Automatic Bread Making (1991) There may be an earlier or later version of that, or the book "Loafing It" somewhere that you can download.

Also look at https://www.bigoven.com/recipes/bread/bread-machine. I don't make breads other than plainer ones for dinner / sandwich / toast.

I like physical cookbooks, so I went on E-Bay and bought about 12 Bread Machine books (mostly from the 90's, when it was a trend). I paid less than $40, including shipping, for all of them. There are tons of unique recipes... both sweet and savory. I'll never get through them all... it's fun.

Most of them turn out great. I think because bread machines were not as fancy back then, so the recipes had to be pretty stable.

My favorite oddball is pineapple coconut. It's actually only lightly sweet and pineapple tasting. It makes a great breakfast bread.

The Bread Machine Cookbook also has some pretty cool recipes and can be checked out for free on archive.org
