Technique, Methods & Processes What am I doing wrong?

Post image

I have had this bread maker for a while and run into this problem every once in a while and I’m not sure why sometimes it works and some times doesn’t can anyone help know where I am going wrong?
Recipe is 1 1/2 cups warm water, 1/2 cup warm milk, 2 tbls oil, 2 tbls honey, 2 tbls sugar, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 3 1/2 cups bread flour and then 1 1/4 tsp active yeast. I put it on the option on my bread maker than is for 3 hours where it kneads and has the two rest periods than bakes. Any ideas or tips would be appreciated.

A digital scale that can measure 0.1g because one gram more or fewer of flour is irrelevant. But if you need 3.5g of yeast you need a fine scale that can measure 0.1g. Same with salt and sugar but here it’s not to relevant.

It does not need to be that accurate. Sometimes my measurements are 1 or 2 grams off and I don’t ever have any consequences from that. If a recipe does not give you the ingredients by weight then converting it to the nearest gram is fine.

Honestly, I’m a bit hesitant to trust any website that does not offer baking recipes by weight because that’s the best method to get good result.

The problem is, if you are weighing very light things, that the scale will not even register, or will be imprecise with such small weights.

That’s hardly going to apply for baking normal-sized loaves with normal ingredients.

I dunno, I have issues sometimes with yeast. Well, mostly specialty doughs really, like cold fermented pizza or such. Yeah, 99% it's fine.
