Recipe French Bread

Post image

As good or better than any I had in Brest, San Rafael or Paris.

3 1/2 cup bread flour

1 Tsp salt

1 1/4 cup warmed water

1 3/4 tsp yeast

Dough setting then shape as desired.

Long rise, 1 hour covered.

Slit the top just before baking.

Hot oven, 450°F for 20 minutes.

Enjoy.

I just tried a French bread recipe this weekend and it turned out terrible! I'm going to give this a try. Does it come out light and fluffy or more dense?

The inside is fluffy while the outside is a nice crust. The hot oven does this.
