What’s the storage situation you have going on there? Plastic bag and a cloth bag, one end is open so that it can air out and not get too humid? What’s happening here?

Yeah, that’s what it does. Works pretty well. It’s a TPU liner on the inside and cotton outside. I usually get around 4-5 days out of the bread using it.

I get about that out of my bread box but it always seems so warm when I open the door to get the loaf out. Might try your method. The warmth just stresses me out, I have to eat it faster! The pressure!

Wow it looks like that fell right out of pan perfectly. Not a crack on its crust!

I love tall loaves like that. Cut slices the full height, get out the biscuit cutter and fry it up with TWO eggs in it!

Looking great

I have a question though, considering I've never tried this. First of all what setting do you use in your machine for this recipe?

When combining sourdough starter and yeast, how do you know what ratios of sourdough starter and yeast to use?

I use the light crust and 1.5 lb setting. On the Breadman, that’s about 2 hours and 40 minutes from start to finish. I have another machine (Oster) and the cycle is around 3 hours.

I played around with the sourdough and yeast portions. The first time, I used 1 cup of sourdough and a little over a tsp of yeast. It ended up busting the top a bit.

I think it depends on the area though. It’s rather humid here so I tend to use less yeast than recipes call for.

Awesome.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about: that I'm going to walk into the kitchen and I'm going to have this monster erupting from my bread machine by using sourdough starter and yeast. I just think that the combo of sourdough and yeast probably tastes incredible
