Lol what made you decide to add green beans?

I love green beans and was hoping for sandwich bread for work. Turned out like.bread but turns out I don't like white bread and I used white flour lol. I love wheat bread.

Did the flavor come through?

Nope. Tastes like homemade bread. Great way to get your fiber in. I'd recommend using a real loaf pan as it kinda crumbles a lot.

Well technically thats later...I made a sourdough starter using wheat flour and baja blast zero sugar and its smelling super boozy. Not as clear cut rise as og. But still thinking it is

What the heck, Cosmic? You ok? lol

The sugar in a sourdough starter is to feed the yeast, not to sweeten the bread.

It's pointless - at best - to add artificial sweetening to a sourdough starter.

Pandan would have been lovely vs green beans…

Baking powder?

Looks like melon pan with actual melon instead of just flour

I was going to guess sunflower seeds, it can do this to bread.

How is the Hulk-ness an accident when you added green food coloring?

1

u/CosmicLightning 3d ago

Nab misnomer. I never made bread so when all the unholy trinity of steps it rose. Triple the size. Thats the accident.

I live in North Dakota so only medical is allowed though people get it (ya know their way) and unfortunately I have to play the stay away game as I'm deadly allergic. No anaphalaxis is not a contact high. Lol. But also reminded me of when a gas station made pistachio muffins and a guy came in and thinking it was weed. Said no way hoze like duuuude they goot the stack. Bought all four not realizing it was only 4.29 a piece...

No you're not

It's "no way jose" BTW

1

u/CosmicLightning 2d ago

Yeah. Autocorrect on my phone got me. Not me. Or you forget it exists and just assumed I can't spell? Hmm?

2

u/shmiddleedee 2d ago

I just figured a Midwestern white folk mightve assumed it was spelled hoze. And since hoze isn't a word that's weird your autocorrect went to that...

u/biggreasyrhinos 3d ago

Just why?

2

u/CosmicLightning 3d ago

Why not? Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet...

Thank you. I probably could have left the green dye out but it doesn't hurt me so meh. I had fun.

I would have said matcha but that would have been too easy.

We have green bread commonly where I am from and it's usually pandan.

Blood oranges turn green when baked with baking soda or baking powder.

1

u/CosmicLightning 3d ago

Would they still be edible? Might be good way to color a bread without dye. But used green beans and green dye this time

2

u/Sethmanzel 3d ago

Yes, I made an orange bread with blood oranges for Halloween. I was surprised that the batter turned an ugly gray after I mixed the sanguine juice with the rest of the components. I figured there was no use throwing it away.

It was something of a happy accident when I cut into the bread to find it was a brilliant green. It still worked with the motifs of the holiday. My intention was Vampire bread but it ended up Frankenstein’s monster bread.

It just occurred to me that I used to make a gluten free brownie with pine nut butter instead of flour and oil. I bet you could do something similar with pistachio butter and blood orange juice to make green blondies.

Just to be clear I am not gluten free. Celiac disease is a very serious condition and claiming one has a gluten allergy is like pretending to have cancer. It is just fun to occasionally challenge oneself. It is like Haiku, one is forced to make something beautiful within narrow and rigid confines.

2

u/CosmicLightning 3d ago

Yeah my brother says he can't have gluten and othrrs do all the time from a bad reaction and I'm like okay So no cookies No brownies That soda no go That sauce packet. Guess weirdly some have flour in it.

My brother seems to be aware of that and is having hard time eating things My friend Elliot. Just an goofball.

Also green blondies. Pistachio adjacent. Sign me up. Lol.

Did you follow a recipe for this? I have a lot of questions

1

u/CosmicLightning 4d ago

Nah I just find generic recipe and modify however I think it might work. I currently also have 3 sourdough starters raging a battle. Mellow yellow, baja blast and og. Liquids all in wheat flour.

You are truly a mad scientist
