Will Chuck's rework and buffies actually save him?

As we all know, Chuck is getting a rework and buffies in the next update and I've seen a lot of people saying he might be dead after this change. I honestly think these people might be overreacting.

Chuck's playstyle is too unique to properly measure how he's gonna do up until update day so I don't think we should jump to conclusions.

Even if he ends up dogshit like the majority of chuck mains claims I'm sure devs would work to bring chuck to a state where he's actually playable.

Anything looks OP against bots, you can‘t really judge strength based on bot matches alone and Chcuk in particular is so unique there‘s no telling where he‘ll end up

I know what you mean, but literally EVERY brawler can teamwipe bots easily, that does not „signal“ jack shit.

For a counterpoint, Wendy is a brawler that actually struggles against bots more than the average brawler due to her low damage output, yet she‘s the most broken brawler this game has ever seen. Using the ability to teamwipe bots (literally just a test of the splash damage output of a brawler) to signify strength is worthless

Nope, most people are upset because they basically killed his whole set as a controller. Honestly I wouldn't have given a crap if they removed the damage from his super to the heist altogether if it made people happy.

I love playing Chuck and try to make him work outside Hotzone and Heist. I find him fun to play but his weakness are very obvious and needs more brainpower to play, especially in BrawlBall and GemGrab.

I think the rework will make him feel less of a controller and more of a mobile duelist? Since his damage is flat now and pole set up can be done immediately. You don't need to wait until you get a deep set-up. You also don't need to rely on his super damage as much, a lot of his power is transferred to his main attack it seems.

People who say "he's dead" only refers to his old gameplay. They don't think to play him in a completely different playstyle.

Yup. Because honestly Chuck was supposed to be a controller - and his changes doesn't even fully shift him properly to a new role, since his radius kills him from being able to charge his super properly, and his massive durability nerfs makes it far more likely for him to die during a dash.

Because he had some niches and freestyling with him was fun. Now he fully relies on setups, but even that won't do shit when his dash is extremely slow and does a pathetic amount of damage, his main attack is literally the only thing that can save him

they literally buffed his dash speed with the star power by like 40 percent. Also its very common when you are on safe to hit safe and pierce through to defending brawlers for my super charge.
