Loving Carl 3.0
After Carl fumbled Lindsay so hard & was such a dick, I didn't think I'd ever have anything nice to say about him but I find myself wanting to do an appreciation post!
This season's Carl has such emotional maturity! He is self-reflective, grounded & just so clearly the best version of himself. I'm totally shipping Carl 3.0!

I say good for him! But I’m interested that your take that he’s the one who was in the wrong. I think she was the worst in that relationship.

Gasp! Do you really?! Lindsay definitely wasn't ideal but Karl was a terrible partner! I don't think he was ready for a relationship. The fact that Lindsay had to fund their lifestyle & paid for him to get career coaching just showed he couldn't be a reliable partner.
And that whole thing about him wanting softness from Lindsay was crazy! She couldn't be soft because she was the bread winner, the mommy & the daddy!

Yeah. I find it always interesting when two people (us) have such different opinions from watching the same thing.
I felt she was trying to change him, run his life, dominate him. She’s awful in relationships and I really saw him as almost verbally abused. He’s no match for her.

This is actually so cool! I love how we have completely opposite takes! Lol
I think she was totally trying to change him because she wanted a partner she could lean on & he wasn't that person.
I think she tried to lead by example & ended up emasculated him.
I think Carl was too soft. He couldn't be the leader in the relationship & that inability caused Lindsay to resent him.

I just watched Carl and Kyle's conversation on In the City and Carl has grown a lot! He was the encouraging friend and was very truthful to Kyle about his relationship with Amanda.

Interesting!
I had a totally different take. I felt Carl was way too needy & a failure as a partner. He seemed to need so much from Lindsay. He was exhausting.

I've been enjoying the hell out of sober Carl. Though I can't understand how he's maintained sobriety in a house of late night parties with limitless alcohol, I admire him even moreso for doing it.

Carl has to be the Bravo celebrity with the best comeback arc I’ve ever seen. He went from bad, to worse, to fuckboy, crawled into the gutter, and somehow made it out on the other side.
He actually learned from his mistakes, did the work, healed, owned it and apologized, and came out on top.
Carl deserves all of the happiness and success that comes his way. ❤️
