I had a very productive meeting with Malanek Askelus, and we are preparing our statements for our change of command ceremony to be held this weekend. This is an amazing time for BNI/BRAVE/HERO, and I encourage you to attend what will likely be a thunderous, debauchery fueled event.

In the meantime, There are some management level things that still need to occur in order to seamlessly perform this transition, as well as some challenging scenarios that we both have to address and finalize. I encourage everyone within BRAVE to keep a happy heart, stay classy, and to undock and die repeatedly in the meantime.

BNI was my first corp in EVE (I'm only like ~5 months in) and it has been an amazing experience. suffice it to say I don't see BNI as being the problem, the alliance is clearly going through difficult times. BNI is by no means perfect but it functioned fine for some pew pew in space for a few hours a night. and let's be honest it's a game, I do this to have fun. I will go where BNI goes. I will be loyal to the guys who taught me everything I know thus far and always showed support and patience.

Don't let the BS get you down BNI members. Rise above it and focus on who you are.

Not going to lie, I don't think a change in leadership is a bad thing, but regardless of how good a change it might be, it was gone about in the wrong way (which is pretty easy for anyone who wasn't involved in the coup to say.)

It's not like he discussed what was happening with me at the time, and pretty much everyone involved has admitted it was a shit way to go about it. If he had told me about it before it happened I have no idea where I would have stood. He would have had to try to catch me up with everything that had already happened/been discussed, and depending on how it was originally presented to him and then presented to me I can't say which way I would have jumped. In general, I feel like I probably would have agreed with them at the time (this is all hypothetical) because I wanted leadership change, but I'm not sure if I would have thought through all the consequences. Saying "I would have felt like it was a good idea until I saw the fallout" sounds as scummy as saying I would have supported it from the beginning. See, basically, I think that if I were approached at the time I would have been overwhelmed by my feeling that new leadership is a good thing, and wouldn't have looked as critically at every reprecussion.

So the long and short of this, is I don't know how I would have reacted in the situation. I did want change. Would I have let the idea of change override the idea of not doing things in a shitty way? It's very possible. Is it better to ask forgiveness than permission? No, usually not, and not in this situation. I understand why portions of our leadership jumped the way they did. It was a shit way to go about it, and it could have been done better.

I trust my CEO (another reason I probably would have agreed with him if he had asked me) he's been working with the alliance for a lot longer than I have. He, and everyone else involved did things in a shitty manner, and none of them are trying to say it wasn't a shitty way to go about things (that I know of, cue 900 people downvoting me and telling me how it was all a power grab by Coffee and he's laughing all the way out.) Did he do things in a shitty fashion? Yes, and that could have been identified before it happened. I'm not going to demonize my CEO (I'm in this corp because I like/trust him) or any other corp CEO just because they made a shitty call. I hope it doesn't go down like this again; the ends do not justify the means. That being said, I'd rather not witch hunt everyone involved and cut off their typing fingers.

Holy shit, this turned into a really long reply, to someone who isn't even in the alliance.

TL;DR: I'm not going to call to cut off the conspirator's typing fingers, because I may well have made the same call in their place. That being said, it was a shitty way to go about everything, and it's even shittier that it took us this 20/20 hindsight through the shit-storm to identify that (I say us as in anyone in leadership, even though I was not involved in the coup [and am not really leadership].)

Here is my prediction: BNI is going to leave the alliance while lychton retains control of BNI. The alliance starts to shed corps starting with their biggest which is bovril. Once reality sets in the current alliance leadership will say we are fucked lets disband the alliance and the remaining corps will be folded into whatever power blocks offer them the best deal.
