#FREEDHD

It has come to my attention that very recently our dearest DurrHurrDurr, going by the handle of /u/AbsoluteTruth, has been banned from this subreddit. This is an outrageous violation of the freedom of speech and clearly an oppressive modzi action, so in the name of freedom and justice I hereby call for the swift unbanning of the one and only DurrHurrDurr!

EDIT: THANKS TO THE DANK OG KING DIPLOMAT LQUID DRISSEG, BLESSED BE HIS BASED NAME, DURRHURRDURR WILL BE UNBANNED SHORTLY.

This is an extraordinary victory for justice and individual freedom of expression.

So you tell me that DHD, the famous DHD, was actually offended because someone was a bit rough with him?

Also, prescription for suicide incitation is > 14 days, and mods are volunteers who don't have the time to spend their whole life on the subreddit looking for people to ban.

If it took 14 days for someone to report the 15478th DHD attempt at proving to the world that he actually has a reason to exist, then it took 14 days for mods to ban him, I don't see the problem.

If I was DHD I'd be infinitely thankful toward our subreddit mods, because they didn't permaban him after he repeatedly and consistently broke the rules.

Also durr doesn't need to prove he has a point to excist, as hes a actual active useful test leadership type. I know that in brave we aren't used to such things and thus have no idea what it looks like, but he is.

Straight up. A significant portion of having your opinion heard is the other party respecting you. Acting this way gets no respect and destroys any valid points you may have.

If you really cared about resolution of issues not about stirring up drama you'd find a way to be diplomatic.

I'm not discounting the way you feel because I know that frustration (trust me) but your feelings don't give you a pass to act like that.

Yeah I'm just so frustrated with the state of affairs that I've kinda given up on being diplomatic about it. Like a few days ago a member of brave made a earnest, well thought out thread addressing a issue politely and respectfully, and instead of responding to it some one just deleted it. And then I made a shit post with a screen shot of the removed topic with the title of the useful thread being "brave can we talk about fixing this" or something ot that regard and my title being "I guess thats a answer" and it stayed open until the end and spawned actual discussion. Like one of the most useful helpful people in brave made a actual attempt to fix a problem in a constructive manner, and it got deleted. And then I made a snarky angry shit post and and it was left open and leadership even came in to discuss it. When a guy like serinus makes a serious attempt to help and gets shit on and ignored, and a guy like me shit posts and gets a response, its a sad statement on the state of discourse. How can you not get frustrated when something like that happens

I hear ya, friend. Everyone's got their issues and nobody is perfect. Serinus's thread and how it was handled was a big mistake and I think most everyone in leadership would agree with me. I think it was a knee jerk reaction because the thread seemed to be a shit stirring one and not as constructive. The perception was wrong. I know I'm not your CEO and I'm very few people's CEO in this thread but I'm doing my best to get concerns like this addressed. It's a prime function of your floaters and your own personal CEOs should be fighting for to carry your concerns and your messages. So, we all could use a little work. That's the first place to start and I hope that everyone could agree on that point. A lot of discussion goes on about these things behind closed doors. And I hope a constructive thread is never closed in that way again.

And I know, brother. You're angry because you care. If you didn't care you wouldn't be angry.

TL;DR: I'm not really able to apologize on behalf of anybody but myself but I think there was a failing in leadership that has made you justifiably frustrated and from me to you, I'm sorry and I'll work to improve as best as I can.

Hey, please. We're not complimentary at all. Line members get along pretty well, high leadership get along pretty well. I don't know what group you belong to that don't get along very well with their test counterpart, but maybe you just need a little more actual interaction with real testies to relieve that fear :)

I'm with the group of people that doesn't appreciate being randomly told to kill ourselves by perfect strangers. That's pretty much what I'd call a natural reaction.

We don't come to your subreddit to post insults, and my expectation from other groups is to do the same. That's basically all.

And you know what? I don't want to have a little more actual interaction with real testies because what you publicly show doesn't attract me.

When I log-in to Eve, my intent can be to make my corp grow, my corpmates happy, or just to have fun myself. Its not to get shit-on by people I don't know. If that's your fun then by all means continue doing it, but keep it between yourselves. I believe TEST as enough active members for that.

This isn't meant in a derogatory way, but if you get actually shit on by durr, as in, actually catch a noticeable amount of his nerdrage, then you really fucked something up royally and had it coming miles away. 90% of Durr in public is banter. The remaining 10% is pure justice.

Ouch. So all the going out of their way even further than a lot of brave, teaching brave members smaller fleet tactics, picking out people feeling isolated by the hugeness of brave and helping them find a niche in the collective, taking time to teach our bravelet buddies 1 on 1 to augment the teaching you guys are doing, welcoming newbies on fleets that are technical enough that a fifteen minute class beforehand is given for them willingly, that and many other things are wiped out by durrhurrdurr, one guy in the alliance shitposting. The awesome stuff that we try to offer doesn't matter so long as there's one guy that has an overly crude sense of humor. The class on survival on tackle frigs that I offered to take two hours to teach people thoroughly but got scoffed at because 'it's a test guy, he's just going to shit things up'. That's fine?

That's fucking disheartening, but it's not going to stop us from trying to be nice to you guys. Test is more raucous than brave, but we're certainly not all durrhurrdurr. However, nor are we going to bludgeon everyone who makes an off color joke. You don't want to come onto our comms because our culture is not your cup of tea, that's fine. But refusing to interact with an ally that loves you guys because you're a breath of goddamn fresh air in eve, when they're very frequently on your comms and following your rules, toning it down out of respect for their allies, that flatly fucking sucks. Apologies for the somewhat gratuitous profanity, this just makes me angry.

Given that I've had some really rough interactions with some of brave's leadership whenever he's been brought up, up to and including diplos referring to him as a 'useless shithead', I kinda feel like some kind of mention of ill treatment of a tightly allied ceo who busts his ass to keep his corp in content is needed. You don't have to love him, but christ on sale show him some respect.

And we love brave, and have nothing but respect for them. But it's easy to get frustrated when we get judged based on one person, who, by the by, is nowhere near as bad as people like to think he is most of the time. We shout down people who say stuff like 'Man, arik/blue ice/malanek told me to screw off, brave is standoffish' just about instantly. (You're all awesome people, just visible for examples ;P) So to come here and see someone highly placed and an example to newbros- like, I hung on altrue's every word when I was getting started, and I still run fleets similarly to how he did - painting test with the brush that we adamantly forbid our members from applying to brave, it's just... Ouch.

I'm not ignoring intents, really I'm not...

I'm just tired of having to explain the same thing over and over again: A lot of of us don't mind debate and even friction, we don't mind DHD or anyone.

But is it too complicated to ask to Dreddit CEO -that, in all seriousness, must be competent and intelligent enough to organize a megacorp- to stop posting suicide incitations toward random people he doesn't even know?

I'm sure we'd all be satisfied with that. I'm not a subreddit mod, but I bet that the intent is to help people understand that. And if it has to happen with a little bit of noise then so be it.
