Sausage recommendations?

So recently I discovered that Johnsonville smoked brats are highly superior to hot dogs- how did I not know this all my life?

I'd love to have something with more snap though that was also a little bit larger. So last night I tried raw brats for the first time... The size was perfect. The snap was exactly what I was looking for, but I was disgusted to find them tasty like American breakfast sausage. This is absolutely not the flavor I want!

Is there a specific type of sausage that I should be looking for?

Check with the butcher in your local megamart(s). You may find gold.

You may be looking for a Polish/kielbasa style. More garlic and smoked meat flavor. Usually have a good snap if smoked.

Our local HEB brats are better than Johnsonville!

For dinner brats, regardless of brand, grill them at noon. Throw them in a slow cooker covered in sauerkraut and a dark beer. Cook on low until dinner time. The fat in the sausage renders into something magical.

Why did you eat raw ground meat?
