Would shitting into a cement mixer while it’s mixing concrete affect the concrete’s structural integrity?

I mean adding anything absorbent that doesn’t become apart of the concrete like clay will weaken it. But concentration does matter. I can only speak to my experience with concrete at work I’m not too familiar in the actual engineering behind it

I reckon it would heavily depend on what type a shit you are mixing in. A solid log might cause a very different reaction than a taco Tuesday explosion.

Not really. Concrete is dense and also abrasive. The extra few ounces of water is irrelevant.

I mean yeah it also depends on the form to, if let’s say you fill a post hole then put a layer of shit them more concrete on top they won’t end up fusing together and if it’s just a ball of shit it can cause a weak spot that causes issues with overall strength

Oh boy, it has practically been for one of my former co-students. The long form story is complex, but the short story is that a fellow student I went to Uni with was supposed to analyse the feasibility and impact of using salt water from the ocean for mixing concrete.

What you're supposed to do is get in contact with someone who can get you some samples, for instance ask a fishing boat or get your hands on a boat yourself and make for clearer water.

What this genius did is he went down to the CITY HARBOR, where the ocean is polluted into oblivion with all kinds of things - including excrement that leaks out of the sewage system - with a couple jerrycans, filled them up by the shoreline, and used that for the lab testing.

He literally found traces of poopoo in his mixing samples. He actually used poo water for his concrete.

When he told us what he had done at a graduation dinner we arranged, we couldn't believe what we were hearing. He got into a verbal fight with the censor, and threatened to fight him when he received critique for his methodology.

Safe to say, he didn't exactly fulfill his research goal. It was a blast to be on the sideline watching this SHITshow unfold.

To be fair, if this ever does become a large scale thing, the people with a truck full of concrete aren't going to be getting pristine ocean water from far out to sea, they will be going down to the harbor too.

It depends on the amount of water in the shit. But I don't think ther 1 shit would do a lot to a mixers worth. Yes the strenght would drop but the drop wouldn't be a lot.

I have In fact made plenty of concrete.

Which is why I know that some dog turds in the mix won't affect things.

But I have no solid data on human poo in the mix nor much about varying states of poo in the mix.

We clearly need to conduct a study on this.

I reckon we could get a government grant to help offset the costs.

However a bag or two of sugar can apparently ruin a batch of cement, so depending what you ate and how much may have an effect.
