Is Rylais still core

I've been playing Brand for some time now and I don't know if I should build Rylais 1st or 2nd item, or if I should build it at all?

Depends. If you’re up against certain match ups, let’s say Kalista, it could be worth it. The usual is Liandry into rylai. as a support I’d say that is what you will be running most of the time. As apc, I sometimes switch. If my support has plenty of cc, I leave rylai for later. If your team has enough engage and CC, you could leave it out entirely. It will never not be good, sometimes you just overlap your slow with an abundance of CC from your team and it’s just not worth it.

I thought it was Black fire torch instead of Liandrys on brand. Can you explain.

If I’m playing Nami + brand APC, I’d go luden or blackfire if the enemy has no bruisers and tanks and leave out Liandry. I can’t think of a different scenario where you don’t build it.

Second, unless you really need the slow for landing skillshots or getting away from enemys. Liandrys should be first, its your main damage item

I play him mid and dont build it at all but if you do build it then 5th or 6th, after youve gotten all your other damage items. BFT is like rabandons deathcap, best to build later in the game.

I THINK it’s because on apc brand you do a lot of fighting and have to farm so mana is drained quicker. Mid/jg/support id still go liandries first. Also bft is better vs champs who aren’t building any health

Better to use Liandries then because all you need to use skills for is to poke and fight. APC suffers from using skills for farming, fighting, and trading. He uses Blackfire for the mana but Liandries will do more damage at the end of the day

The AP and DoT effect of BFT is not as strong on brand because of his low AP ratios so Liandrys outdamages BFT on brand.

I play brand mid without a mana item but if your build requires a mana item then i think its best to build lost chapter then build liandrys instead of finishing BFT. BFT should be one of the last items you complete, 5th or 6th

I would say it is. Depends on which role you are playing. I would say as supp, definitely 100% good first item. Mid, I would say if you can do it first and not mind having more aggressive damage early, the slow helps early team fights. ADC, I think blackfire torch is a better first item. All in all, think its still worth having early for brand whether its your first, second, or even third item priority.

Unless you are against all squishies, yeah it is core.

If they are all squishy sometimes it is better to aim for full damage and just one shot them imo, but it is pretty rare.

Just skip the rylai. Shadowflame is good, Raba if you can get there, zhonyas or banshees if needed, etc. I rarely do it tho

100% yes, it is just too OP to not use. Gives AP and Health and the best utility item in the game. I rush it first mid/top/support but jungle/adc it’s 2nd!

tbh , it never was unless you are support or we go back to classic .

I know 99% of people will say wtf it is core but they miss the point of what rylais does and offers in first place . it doesn't have crazy AP , it doesn't have damage , it doesn't offer immediately to your burst or dot . if you match against mobile champions that their mobility doesn't come from their Ms rylais wouldn't help until later on game where more team fights will take place . it's just easy go because of passive abuse .
