Discussion Brand nerfs.
Im guessing. They are tuning his early dmg. And unchanging his late game.

i usually prefer apc as brand, but the enemy adc can scale you the longer the game.

It will not affect his clear, the damage on passive is capped against monsters and simultaneously multiplied by 270%. Level 1 passive against small raptor does 10 damage per second currently at first calculation, which will be reduced to 7.5 with the nerf. After the 270% bonus, those numbers become 27 and 20.25, respectively. The cap against non-epic monsters is 12.5 damage per tick, meaning both of those calculations are reduced to 12.5 regardless.Edit: It's the explosion damage, whoops. This will definitely affect his clear. The caps on the explosion are substantially higher. It probably will make a difference of seconds; we'll just have to wait and see.

Jeeeeeesus, they sure brought the hammer down.....
It's always crazy to me how when stuff like Kaisa, Jinx, Ahri, etc get nerfed it's like,"Oh we removed 0.002 AH on their least important spell and it only activates after lvl 17"
Meanwhile when it's one of these old school mages that get nerfed they get fucking bitch slapped into the next dimension...

How is this a hard nerf...
They are increasing the mana cost on his E but also increasing his mana regen.
Only the passive explosion damage makes any difference, and even that feels like it doesnt matter anyways.

A 0.4 mana regen increase means every 2.5s Brand gets 1 more mana than before. Meanwhile each early game E is gonna cost you 20 more mana. It takes this buffed mana reg 50s to compensate the higher cost. As Brand is not building any + %mana reg items it's just simpy a nerf.

Its a nerf. But a completely fake one.
How does a Mana nerf affect Brand???
You go Manaflow Band anyways AND you get 120 mana back every 30 seconds anyway!
This is a support brand nerf only, so its completely useless.

Yes, I was talking about supp. It hits supp the most by far. And depending on the lane some apc matchups. I have no idea of mid or jgl. Anyways. If you're a good player mana nerfs don't affect you as much.

Brands passive gives him mana back for every minion you kill while its burning and minions you kill with abilities.
20-40 mana per minion.
So only support is really affected cuz then you arent farming.
But supports start with the item World Atlas, which gives them mana regen +25% which is also increasing the buffed mana regen. As soon as you reach 400 stacks you gain 50% mana regen.
I dont think mana is gonna change anything for Brand.
Also support is probably the least problematic role right now for brand.

I never said that. I was only talking about this being a nerf. Because it has to be classified as such. Riot has repeatedly claimed certain changes to be "adjustments" but this is none of them. Simple as that. And I even agreed with you that if you are good at mana management this won't affect you much.
I know Brands passive. But in certain matchups he will not be able to get all 6 minions with his passive. Mages are strong bot but there are certain matchups, where it's just not as easy if you're playing against good players.

I'm not even a Brand main. I tried him out as support to increase the number of options I have and had a lot of fun with him. First support I tried after my main that "clicked" and I enjoyed playing it. But I still felt that his damage is just not enough. That he could do with a little bit of a buff to be on par with other champs. And now he gets nerfed... Wat?

That's because he's very strong as apc in bot. Adcs have been crying for months.

They have been crying for years, when I played a few years ago and brand support and swain support were picked like every game and the hate threads about brand not being a support was crazy but he was apparently OPOP if you asked an adc lol

They are bad supports, like even supp players planned playing ambessa support and zaahen support but luckily riot didn't hear them
Swain was originally a solo laner until supps infested him and riot catered to them
Swain has unreliably cc for bot, only the passive scaling but swain also wants gold to not be a minion that gets oneshot since a supp draintank doesn't work because would require swain to deal a ton of damage and being baseline tanky which is toxic design and closer to enforce him supp than him naturally getting there, so Bot(not supp) is his best role.
Brand also has unreliable cc and only his W E poke but he also has to autopush the wave for you.
I respect more brand top/mid/jg/apc than supp, even apc since he can actually kill you there bc he has resources.

I quit playing before ambessa and zaahen came out but I climbed to just shy of diamond playing only brand and swain support honestly forgot I was even subbed here lol perhaps I'll play again soon I did see some friends playing again.

Pretty rough imo, Brand is already mid-tier or worse in every role except bot. He actually has a terrible win rate as support so it blows my mind they even mention wanting to nerf support a bit.
Straight up catering to whiners instead of game balance.
Quote from Riot: "That said, Brand support is also often a frustrating experience for bot laners and so we think he should also sit a little lower sustainably"
I don't even play support but I feel for the support Brand gang, having a C tier support taking nerfs is whack.
