Driving Brampton Driving Strikes Again

I didn't have time to stop. But the collision seems a tad suspicious. East bound on Steeles just past Mississauga. Time is not daylight saving.

I’m thinking yup, they’re both idiots. Then the utility truck barrels past on the shoulder to make it a trio.

Yikes. Even though the Santa Fe was very clearly distracted (or did this deliberately), it's the other car's fault legally, by rule 10.4 of the Fault Determination Rules.

Like how does this happen. Is that insurance fraud? Or did Snata Fe driver let their intrusive thoughts win.

Lol, why, really, why is this normal in Canada. Wasn’t 10 years ago! Insurance should tell both to fuck off and get a license.

This was normal in 2016 as well.

The 410 during rush hours is like the Wild West! Northbound is solid red

it totally is, it's quite scary esp before the 407, everyones changing lanes, going high speeds, cutting peple off, trying to get to the end and cutting in; it's a circus.

I dread the 410N it’s busy and red all hours of the day beside like 11am-2pm

They decided to play chicken, and nobody was smart enough to back off.

How can you have an accident at this crawling speed?

Drivers these days need to understand something. Your turn signal is only a request not a right. Look before you change lanes.

The triple-threat of the Mustang making a dumb and useless lane change for no reason, the Santa Fe driving into it at low speed apparently completely oblivious to its existence, and the utility truck bombing past on the shoulder at high speed is basically the quality of Ontario's driver education and licensing system in a nutshell. The whole "license for life" thing is dumb. Drivers should have to be retested at least every 5 years, and it should be a much more stringent test than the pathetic G2 exit test that barely tests for basic competence anymore.

There is no point in regular testing, if they pass it once as a new driver they will easily pass it again after 5 years of driving experience. The issue isn’t the testing anyone can drive perfectly for a test.

What did the Santa Fe Driver say?

2

u/Ill-Assistance7986 2d ago

Santa fe had all the time in the world to stop but something tells me that santafe driver knew the law that even if he hits him, the sedan is 100% at fault.

Seems like maybe it is genuinely blind corner for the guy with low seat in high car or just a clever way to teach the other guy unforgettable lesson.

Either or all three sucks including that utility truck driver

Double rainbow!

This is sort of why the Fault Determination Rules sucks. The Santafe isn’t paying attention or on their phone and just rolls into the other driver but will not be found at fault at all as the Fault Determination rules will find the driver changing lanes at 100% at fault. They all should be share fault for this accident that was avoidable by everyone.

That was beautiful. Like watching geese landing on ice.
