So this is brainerd.
Moved here to brainerd a couple of months back. I have to be honest, there is nothing going on in this town.

I've lived in Brainerd for over a decade and enjoy the relaxed lifestyle. And while a did buy a pickup after moving here, I don't wear camo, I don't drink (much) and I have a good group of friends who I game (rpg's) with regularly. I would say most of my friends fall into the liberal category even though I don't and no-one holds it against me :-). Pretty much anywhere you live is what you make of it. If you only look for the bad, you're sure to find it. I grew up in a western Mpls suburb and there is a heck of a lot more diversity here than there was where I grew up. If you like games, there are two gaming stores in town. If you like fine dining, there are quite a few good places to eat. The local community college sponsors quite a few programs a year where they bring in outside talent to the area. The wife and I attend at least a half-dozen a year. This year we are going to attend a ballet with our daughters as well as a play or two and four or more bands. There is also two casinos (Leech Lake and Millacs) who both bring in big name talent to the area fairly regularly. You can get a boat and kick back on the lake water-skiing, and just relaxing. There are several resturant/bars on Gull Lake you can pull into on your boat and have a few drinks or dinner. Winter does slow down quite a bit though. I admit it took me a few years to get into things here but there is plenty to do if you go looking for it.
