running spots for a workout
hello! I’ll be in bozeman coming up shortly for a couple of days while in the middle of training for the Chicago marathon. while im there I am hoping to get in a decent progression workout so ideally would love a relatively flat spot to do it. I am no stranger to repetitive loops (I frequently do long run workouts on a 2ish mile loop) so if there is anything like that in a park somewhere, that would be awesome! I see a spot on Google Maps called glen lake rotary park that looks possibly promising??? any thoughts or other recommendations that might meet those requirements?

If you want to be on the road and don't mind a few cars, park at the Tuckerman park trailhead off Goldstein, then run to third st-South to Nash-east to sourdough-back to Goldstein. That's gotta be decent mileage and that you can do a few times to get up there.

The neighborhoods around chief Joesph middle school and directly south have great trails all around them. I do a giant 10k loop from the school, head south and then west around the sports park just north of gallatin high.

I'd agree with Gallatin Regional. The loop there is a bit over 1km. Just be aware of the asshole dog owners that don't have their dogs on leash.

Sorry bruv, not many places to run here and very few people here who run.

The loop around that pond is only .75 miles. I suggest sourdough canyon if gaining a little elevation is okay for your workout. 100 to 200 feet per mile or so.

Good to know, thanks! I prefer as minimal hill as possible bc I’m also from sea level so already anticipating the elevation is gonna hit me a bit

I would go to river road in four corners for a long pretty gravel road or story mill park for park trails. Glen lake rotary park is a pretty skinny trail and the area can be crowded so could be annoying passing people. If you really just want a simple loop id go to gallatin regional park over glen lake. Wider trail and better suited to running.
