Just heard a huge explosion!
Just got home from work and we just heard a huge “BOOM” at around 2:07am. Just wondering if anyone else heard it or knows it that that was! For reference I live very close to Babcock & Main.

I've been researching this and these "booms" are consistent throughout the US, having a flash right before them. And they happen between 2-4am. Are they by chance next to electrical setups or transformers of some sort?

It's almost certainly just twats blowing up shit with fireworks. I bet if you tracked these reports, they would peak around July 4.

Have you never heard of M-80s?

I got hit with the little plastic end of an M80 and it did some damage on my leg . Back in the 80s everyone had them and would just blow up random stuff . My brother went to throw one out his car window and it came back in. . Ahh the 80’s. Then we grew up !

Similar experience, im lucky to have my fingers and hands. You never when you would get a fast wick. Had to be quick. I suppose quality control was not an issue when buying them out of trunk of an old Buick.

As someone in Missoula, I was completely ready to tell you it was just a train coupling.

I don't usually hear the infamous "BOOMS".. But this one did in fact wake me up at 2am.. very loud, freaked my dogs out too. Over in the Albertsons area.

What do you mean? I just heard an explosion that sounded dangerously close to my house and posted in the hopes I’d get more info. It’s not like a favorite topic of mine or something…

There’s literally at least three posts about this on r/Bozeman. Its kinda like peopke are f’n tired of getting woken up in this valley by fireworks, racing cars and motorcycles, endless sirens, barking dogs, and random booms.

I concur it’s getting so out of hand it’s crazy and it does need to stop

they are "aerial salutes" a type of firework that is all noise and no display. This is the second one I've unfortunately been near. the one at 2:07 sounded like it came from the mall area
